One of the most important tasks you need to realise when you are promoting content into the web is to optimise it to get visits from the search engines, but in an industry so competitive as the adult industry some times it is difficult to separate the noise from the signal, so in order to write this article with original content we analysed more than 800,000 videos from xhamster to see what are some of the things they have in common to attract visitors, here are our discoveries

Titles
Titles are one of the most important elements SEO wise, nevertheless what are the titles that gets the most attention? What are the keywords that are used in the most popular videos? It is clear that everybody wants to rank for words like “sex” or “women” but is there other keywords you can use in your adult marketing campaigns to get more views, more visitors and at the end more sales?


Description.
The description is an important part of your seo efforts as well, and because it can be longer than the title it is vital to use it correctly and write an original description for each one of the videos you are uploading, it can be used to re enforce the keyword you are trying to rank for in the title or to give more context to your video and make easier to the search engines to rank and position your videos, once that has been explained here are the terms we discovered are the ones included in the most viewed videos from the sample we analysed.


Video Tags
This is one of the most misunderstood elements on the video optimisation process, If your video were a book, the categories would be the chapters and the tags will be the themes within that chapter, now in this case it could be the name of the porn star of the video, the fetish on the video, the positions etc… And in general they are used to help recommend videos to the users, so here are the tags that are used in the videos with the most views.


Most repeated titles.
We all know that seo wise the content needs to be original, but this is only if you are looking to rank in the search engines like google, bing and yahoo nevertheless analysing what titles are the ones that are repeated the most withing the tube may help you to understand what titles keep working (that is why people keep using it) and to write certain variations from those titles to still be attractive to the viewer and the search engines, here are the most repeated titles from all the videos that were analysed.


Most voted titles.
One interesting question we tried find and answer to was which are the most voted titles?, this was important because they may not be the ones with the most views BUT the people who watched them liked them enough to click on the “like” button and that may give you a good idea about people who will be more prone to type your domain on the search engines or make the action you are inviting them to take on your video, and here are the results of the most liked videos:

first of all, your posts should be in the educational series so they don't get lost.

regarding this info, its a bit incomplete. you assume that these videos are popular because of the meta data. you'd need proof that those massive view counts are from searches of those terms. there's lots of ways to get to a video.

the other critical factor is geography. it doesn't matter if hajibs are popular in Turkey if we can't get them to join sites, or if shemales are popular in Russia if we can't bill there.

PornHub's Insights are far more helpful and valuable. you should get data there instead..

I think you all are missing the big picture I think this info can be a good guide to optimise your videos, my original idea doing this analysis was to make a tool to help people in the porn uploading process to optimize their videos, meaning you would write a keyword or a category you are interested to rank for or to get traffic for and the tool will show you what titles were the ones that were using your keyword got the most views, what descriptions were the most popular etc... in that way you would be able to use them, spin some of the content and increase your probabilities to get traffic and rank your videos.

The info can be incomplete BUT it is all the available info there is, I do not assume these videos are popular for the meta data they are popular for the number of views that information was available and the table shows the titles with the most views, the descriptions with the most views and so on and so forth.

I agree that a critical factor is geography, but this will be just a guide not a proved formula, if you write in english you will get more traffic from people in english speking countries that is the importance of using the right titles, descriptions and tags, you will attract the people that you want to show your content to using the right language or how many people do you know in Turkey that search in english their porn instead to make the search in Turkish?

Really how is it more helpful? what conclusions do you get that help your marketing? and as far as I know they just share their graphs not the data so how am I going to analyse the data? if you have the data available share it and I will analyse it for sure.

The information was very specific to optimizing for SEO, why would he discuss other topics that make a video popular that have no relevance to the article. As for geography for billing surfers, again that didn’t appear to be the purpose of the article. Good advice on making somewhat informed decisions on naming conventions on your videos in the long run will definitely help overall.

so that is your analisis? that is extremely useful for you? why don't you use the same criteria you are using for the data I shared? what is the geography of that information? what is the conversion? and more importantbly where is the data so other people can analyse it? I told you the problem was that the data is not available.

Are you asking that if it makes a difference in google Analytics the capital letters? well yes the url domain.com/Hello.html is different than domain.com/hello.html now...

If you are asking that if in order to make the analysis the words like enjoy and ENJOY should be counted as one the short answer is yes BUT that is the most difficult and time consuming part of analysing the data, to clean the data and I tried to clean it as much as possible But in order to identify similar patters to combine the words you need to define them first and you can say that:

Enjoy
ENjoy
EnJoy

Are the same the problem comes when there are things like

enjoy (space)
enjoy (space) (scape).
enjoy........................................(spac e).

Long story short I tried as much as I could but with such a big number of elements there were some that split the analysis, but I will post the information updated if you are interested.
