Most of my best friends are Republicans
 

IRL most of my best friends are Republicans. We have healthy debates but never get mad each other. We hang out a lot and disagree on quite a bit. But, we are still friends.

We do crack a lot of jokes about each other though.

I don't know. Just weird. I thought I'd share that with you all. LOL.

i'm in the middle, seeing good points on both sides but by the end of the day leaning a bit to the left side, currently.

my far-right and far-left friends are on very good terms and while occasional disagreement ensues, it's always a civil debate, resulting in "well you can't change my view but you do bring up some valid points, so hmm.."

isn't it nice to be sentient adults who are able to formulate their opinions without succumbing to the spell of a political agenda? :thumbsup

It is best when everyone understands that each individual is entitled to his or her own opinion. That's what makes communication possible. We don't group based on favorite foods or colors, so why do so based on political inclinations?

Republicans are one thing, Trump supporters are another. I had one friend who has 3 kids, took advantage of every govt program out there. He always worked but for as long as I knew him his family was on food stamps, Medicaid, heating assistance, etc. Always ignorant to politics yet when Trump came along he went gung ho. Started re-posting Russian propaganda crap on facebook bitching about people on food stamps, how people should pay for their own health insurance, blah blah blah even though he still collects all that shit. His argument was Trump was great because he wouldn't accept a salary. Complete fucking moron.


Another friend who is a God freak used to post how he would pray every night for Trump to win. Even though he has a 20 year old diabetic kid. Now his kid hasnt spoken to him for 2 years and posts how God will punish his kid for treating his father this way. Another fucking moron.

Yup, I simply will not talk about politics with people. It is pointless. I couldn't tell you who of my friends are R or who are D cause I don't ask.

IRL, and on another board I post on, there are only minor differences between our Democrat & Republican viewpoints and discussions are always calm, civil & logical.

None of my Republican friends support Trump in any way shape or form. In fact, they refuse to discuss him.

It's strange. During the Obama administration all of my Republican friends were talking about how bad things were. Now they are silent.
