Is it time for GFY to adopt other more popular webmaster forums' policies re POLITICS/RELIGION?
 

Other forums see absolutely no value in political / religious topics. They claim these are divisive and DISTRACT folks from talking about business, sharing innovations, and otherwise inspiring each other to reach greater success.

Accordingly, they BAN such topics.

Is it time for GFY to join this trend?

Most of the tone of the “political” discussion around here actually qualifies as “fucking around” so . . .

GFY rules prevent mentioning other WM forums.

They aren't very hard to find though.

Thoughts off the top of my head:

- If GFY were to ban political topics, it would probably die quickly. Then again, maybe cleaning things up would encourage some of the oldies to return.

- Because of the nature of the adult industry, SOME discussion of politics is necessary on here. But where do you draw the line?

- If things continue as they are, GFY may end up (or is already on) a US Government radar. This isn't just a bunch of guys calling each other fags.

Why not a #resist forum?

GFY has always been on the govt radar.. You don't think the Fed's were here when it was the busiest adult forum with multiple potential targets posting here on any given day?

I think we would all love the forum to be about business again, but that would require there to be a adult business to be done. The industry killed off the affiliate model and that was 90% of the posters here.

GFY don't have much else going on these days so no, not a good idea.

DNF = checked on what use to be busy category and the last post was Oct 22nd.
NPs = 10 members online
ABW = no longer exists? holy crap how long have I been gone?
WF = appears to be a blog now
DP = top 4 categories latest posts spread from today to October 22nd

Why didn't you list XBiz.net on there?

xbiz forum is similar to "members area" in my view. All of those listed are/were actual standalone webmaster forums... abestweb eventually morphed into a blog/forum and now seems to have been gobbled up.

So post all the active threads or members online or whatever there

I am a member but don't even remember my username/login... Which is why I didn't even bother....You're welcome to if you like. But there again that's a "members area" forum not stand alone.

A forum is what the members make it. So if it takes a political stance with posts that aren't porn related. Change it back to ones that make it more porn related. Or do those bitching have nothing to offer and just want to leech off others?

If they all contributed they would guide the forum in another direction.

I wonder how many of the most active political posters actually vote...
