It's worth asking those you contact for a sample of what they would do for you so you can be certain they understand what you want and you are both on the same page.

Great advice. Personally, I've found it tough to get a good writer at an affordable price. I usually sent the same article to about 5 candidates, then compare. I'll be lucky to find one person who fits the job out of 5.

I'm more of a stickler for grammar than most, but I was surprised how many writers charging a lot of money can't write legible english.
