Because it's google and no one cares? Also that it's just another liberal whine fest and everyone is sick and tired of those?

Execs get millions in exit packages pretty much no matter what they do it's part of their contracts in all big business. If they don't get a guarantee, they work for a different company.

So to me, it's a nothing burger and not specific to Google

I would imagine this would be common in the business world - they pay money to make problems go away. Even when it includes sexual harassment.

The problem is when they have an employee in place and they have to settle constant sexual harassment lawsuits "quietly". If you have a bad employee you make them go away, even if it costs you money to settle a lawsuit. However, if a company protects an employee over a period of time and settles suit after suit.... That's a huge problem.

Normally I would take the side of the employees. Unsatisfactory handling of sexual harassment claims by any company is unacceptable. Its a clear indicator that their policies, or procedures in following their policies, are in dire need of review.

However, since I agree with Google politically, I am completely indifferent to this story.
