UN says Ozone layer is healing
Good stuff that pretty much proves that man does have an effect on the environment which in turn has an effect on climate.
If the dust bowl of the 30's didn't convince you of that, or if the clean up of the Smog and air pollution starting in the early 70's did not convince you, well then you probably won't be convinced by this either. We know that the planet has a tremendous ability to heal itself if given the chance. The discovery of the damage that CFCs (used as a propellant in sprays predominantly) were damaging the Ozone layer and subsequently causing damage to the planet and the inhabitants of the planet led to the outlawing of CFCs in the 70's. Since then the Ozone layer has been re-growing approximately 1-3% per decade. By the 2060's it should be completely healed. Now, if we can only get some common sense going in relation to the CO2 production and the ongoing human influences on the environment and climate, maybe humans will still exist here in a 1000 years or so. We can only hope, ya know? https://www.snopes.com/ap/2018/11/05...layer-healing/ Quote:

The question is, which is faster: the mentioned above chemical reaction or human technologies that constantly destroy it. |
