They didn't learn. In 2008 when Obama won and the Democrats held all the houses they got cocky. They were talking about running the country for the next 20 years. They dismissed the Republicans as having no leader and no platform other than say no to Obama. They laughed, and they made fun of the Republicans and even suggested the Republican party was on its way out.

Then in 2010 they lost 63 seats and control of the House.

Trump won and Republicans controlled everything. They got cocky and dismissed the Democrats as having no platform, no leader, and no chance. And they paid for it.

Normally, it takes a while before we see history repeat itself. Not this time.
