Dubai Police start training on flying motorbikes (video)

Is this not the stupidest idea ever?

How long before the first decapitation and or dismemberment? All someone has to do is throw rocks at the propellers or rope.

Could have done that with the first planes too... Can't let that stop you.

There's nothing between his unprotected arms & legs and those blades though :helpme:

overdose 11-08-2018 11:47 AM

yeah it's totally unnecessary, what's the benefit of using such thing in public instead anything else... it's dangerous and noisy as fuck

The Emirates do a lot of silly shit. They have too much new money out there they don't know what to do with but flex like a new rapper in a video.

Some nice ass architecture came out of it tho.

Bladewire 11-08-2018 11:52 AM

Here's another video showing it flying at different angles

Clowns.

The moment the driver (pilot?) hits something and gets knocked off the seat they will be chopped to bits. Also seems kind of pointless - unless it can fly over buildings you might as well just have a motorcycle.

I wouldn't get on one of those.

Paramedics need that more...

To rush to the unarmed man the police just shot.

:2 cents:

At the very least it should have propeller guards. Even a basic small handheld drone has guards and those small props won't cut off a limb. This thing is a lower leg amputation waiting to happen.

"The Scorpion-3 can carry 104 kg or 229 pounds in weight, while hitting speeds of up to 43 miles per hour and reach an altitude of 33 feet.

This electric bike has a range of 13 miles, with between 20 to 40 minutes of flying time on a single charge, depending on the battery type. It’s batteries can be re-charged in three hours, or they can be swapped out in a minute."

No tactical advantage at its present level...just a dangerous gimmick...

2MuchMark 11-09-2018 10:27 AM

They could encase the props in a cage of some kind. It would add weight and make them less efficient but used like they are in the video they would of course be way too dangerous. Even if the blades are light and flexible like they are on hobby drones, I'm sure they are fast enough to chop a leg off.

I'm waiting to buy one of these babies:

(Aw man, I love this movie)

So you missed the part where the trainee starts the bike while the instructor and the woman are still standing there. The instructor loses both legs the woman fall forward and gets her head chopped off, amazing amount of blood? Surprised it's still up on YouTube !

I'm sure v10.0 will be much faster, lighter, fuel-efficient, and safer
