Do any of you enjoy building fairy gardens?

1st OFF, THIS IS NOT A TROLL POST, A JOKE POST, NOR A POST ABOUT POO.
I'm actually deadly serious...

So far, I have a delightful little pink door that I have just attached to the wall by my front step and have ordered these beautiful little windows to accompany it. They hopefully will arrive tomorrow.

I'm also starting to hand make miniature outdoor furniture from natural products found in the undergrowth of the garden. Hopefully it will look as good as this:

Am I alone in my passion or are there any other fairy lovers here on GFY? Perhaps we can swap tips or photographs? LMK :thumbsup

I'm not that old . . .

I taught my friend's grand kids how to make fairy baths from Acorns a couple of weeks ago.

Good stuff :thumbsup

Its my Granddaughter that I'm doing it for. With plenty of time on my hands, I'm kinda gonna go all out to make the most fabulous fairy experience that I can imagine for her :)

Well... Even fairies need to poo... :winkwink:

A garden just for me? - How sweet...

Although I am pretty sure my fat fairy ass is going to make saw dust out of that chair!....

AmeliaG 11-09-2018 12:44 AM

Love it!

Going down the beach later to find some nice flat pieces of 'sea-worn' smooth slate, to create a tiny front step and a small wandering path towards the door :)

Thats the same little door I got that started me off...

And thats the same one closer up...

This isn't my door - I saw it in town and thought it was really cute, so Ive added one to my house. My house isn't on the street like that house above, so I have a pre-defined area, infront of the door and next to my front step that I can decorate and add furniture too, where it wont be disturbed by passers by...

When I've eventually finished up with mine, I'll update this thread with some pictures of it... I'll keep this thread URL so I can do so too... GFY search these days is so crap... :(

It's not my thing, but a friend of mine and his wife have built a really cool garden. He is... creative, and has all kinds of things in his garden such as a replica of a destroyed castle, a haunted room, stained glass windows, a train, a tool shed with an alien, a Tardis, you name it. His wife's contribution to the garden is fairy-stuff like your interest. It's really something.. !

One of my uncles does kinda similar shit, not really THAT small but makes like little people out of wood for his garden. I don't have any pics.

Michael's stores have some fairy garden elements - you can either incorporate them or look to them for inspiration.

Have fun building with your granddaughter!

I don't, but I think it's a cool idea. :thumbsup

Those little fairy doors and fairy houses seem to be a big deal on a lot of 3d printing sites.

Nope, not letting Bladewire in.

You have real talent of interior decorating.

I love building gardens! I'm looking to build a fairy tale garden though... and some "Magic Beans" to grow a really big beanstalk...

Smack dat 11-10-2018 05:47 PM

They are great CS. Really impressed. Didn't know you were the creative type.

We run a lot of kids parties and fairy gardens / fairy houses are a bit of a thing we do.

EddyTheDog 11-10-2018 06:59 PM

Strange - Since CS posted this have I seen stuff about fairy gardens all over the place - Never even heard of it before...

It's your people calling you home.

JesseQuinn 11-11-2018 02:01 AM

^^^lol

for real though, really cool

I do not garden or make stuff for gardens but very much appreciate those who do. my mom could plant a popsicle stick and it would bloom, I can't keep a plant alive. so I live in places where others do that for the community. the maintenance dude here is a friend and we smoke up after he finishes work. I hate how much he crops the grass and trees as I prefer nature untamed but meh, it's his job.

I can't picture him making fairy furniture though. actually I have to put that on my bucket list, convince a JA man to make a miniature piece of fairy furniture with me. even the idea of that entertains me.

I remember when I was really young I always found ice on ponds and rivers so magical, could totally imagine fairies living in the steppes and crevices. my fairies wore winter clothes

so what's up with gfy? a thread about fairy gardens and no hateful homophobia or mockery of the pursuit? y'all are slipping :upsidedow

(yay)

Well all I have had here for the last few days is torrential rain, so I have not been able to get done, any of the stuff I wanted to do. Granddaughter is due this afternoon, so Im gonna hide what Ive done and finish it before she sees it. Shame really, but Id rather wait and give her the 'wow' factor than show her something half assed and half finished :)
