Coffee experts..... How much is too much ?

So since coming to the states 20 years ago i have become hooked on Mochas. Then when i purchased a coffee shop in Mission Beach San Diego, it got serious. Experimenting with Kona coffees and even having sacks of beans imported from Kauai Koloa Estate roasted to my exact specifications.

Thats now all in the past, but i find myself drinking about 48oz of Mochas a day (brewed on my own machine) . Admittedly there are only 8 shots of espresso total the rest is milk a little honey and a squirt of cream, but i'm wondering if that is harmful in the long run ? I don't get highs or lows i sleep well, don't get jittery if i go without coffee for a day or more. So has anyone had adverse effects drinking large quantities of coffee daily ?

ps. this has been going on for over 8 years now, since i moved to Maine>

if it contributes to your positive well-being, then that's that, regardless of how much and what studies may or may not conclude.

you're only getting, what, 500Mg of caffeine daily? if that?

there you go. perhaps a better way for me to say it would have been if it doesn't impede your positive well-being...

on account of this thread I just did some quick math on how much caffeine I consume daily, ~800Mg 4 cups of coffee in the mornings and 1 energy shot in the afternoon.

The sugar in the Mocha will give you Diabetes. But I could never live without coffee. I heard that the paper filter protects against the acid in the coffee which is the harmful part but I can't get disposable tiny coffee filters for my Keurig. My body is my coffee filter. :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

I've drank enough coffee for this lifetime . . .

I didn't drink for 5th day because I couldn't sleep. First 2 days I felt like shit.

I feel good now and didn't have problems falling asleep.

It really comes down to: how do you feel?

So many get caught up in "what the right thing to do is" but don't listen to their actual body. The body does a great job of sending signals when something is and when something isn't right. What's good for my body will not be good for the next person, and might be great for the person after that.

If you are feeling great, sleep well, see no real symptoms... you are chasing something that probably isn't there. If you are concerned anyway, try slowly cutting back and see how your body reacts. Do you feel better, worse, same, etc.

i gave up coffee few months ago, because of anxiety issues.

Slack shit nespresso user here and I'd consume 10-20 a day of those.

when this machine fucks out I'll go back to something more manual.

I drink average of 6 cups a day. I love coffee more than pussy.

Best coffee i had was in eureka ca

klinton 11-11-2018 02:32 PM

coffee flushes out minerals (like magnesium) out of your body, its not easy for the stomach and liver... this is my experience at least, you know better how you feel though :winkwink:

i still enjoy coffee occasionally though :)
