$100K investment?

Hi, outside of real estate and bitcoin ( already in ) what other online or offline business would you invest in at this point? Online being most interesting to me since related to what I do now.
$100K cash. Any free thinkers out there ? :-) Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

That is always zero risk, lol

Tasty1 11-15-2018 11:53 AM

It is hard, many happening in the world an nobodyknows where we go. Depends on country, risk you want to take. Uber and Netflix will have new obligations for 6 - 7% interest soon.

In Cambodia you get 9 - 12% interest on the bank. In Indonesia that was 20% by local banks, but that was before the earthquake..

Invest in a new website maybe :)

HelmutKohl 11-15-2018 11:57 AM

I meant something for US market, company one can own and develop, I don't like sitting on some papers like stocks on obligations, too boring. :thumbsup

Adult-biz 11-15-2018 02:49 PM

I trade on the sports markets (Betfair in the main but a few of the smaller ones also) and generate a 100% + return annually (which is considerably better than the banks!). If you would like more details, please feel free to send me a message.

medical cannabis or anything related to that... or other agricultural things, it's the only type of investment which is going to last forever (unless 100% of the planet will be turned into a desert but that's probably a few more hundreds or thousands of years... but you can grow things indoor as well, so...)

Don't take it personal but anytime someone is gambling and claiming 100% returns annually my bullshit radar goes off.

No offence taken but please understand that gambling and trading are two entirely different activities.

Ah ok I thought you said you were gambling. I see the difference. I never heard of sports trading. Is that kind of how a bookie makes his money by taking action on both ways and evening it out, making the profit either way because the loser is going to pay the vig?

Pretty much what you said to a degree.
Backing/laying/hedging/scalping and other strategies. Search the term if you want to find out more but a betting exchange allows you many techniques that you cannot do at a sports book/bookmaker.

How did the betting market in the US turn out? I haven't followed up. Maybe an affiliate for sports betting is one option for your. I am going in this direction next year when it becomes legal in my country. Lots of money to be made... they say that the gambling industry is $1 trillion if you add up all the illegal operations.

You mention lots of money to be made - in what sector are you referring to?
You mean along the lines as a bookmaker/crypto gambling site owner yourself?
Or as a customer betting on such sites?

So many people trying to launch crypto gambling type sites nowadays.

The easiest money you can ever make is doing retail arbitrage on Amazon. You don't need to buy any courses or shit like that to learn, just Google it and read up, or listen to Jim Cockrum's free podcasts. Download the free Amazon Seller app on your phone, go to any retail store like Target or Walmart, and start scanning items, especially stuff on the clearance racks. Obviously there are nuances to learn, like brand restrictions and gated items, but there are hundreds of free Facebook groups you can join to learn.

When you get your feet wet there you can scale up by learning wholesale arbitrage. People think that Amazon sells everything, but there are literally millions of items that are not available for sale yet on Amazon, and there are tricks to finding items that are searched for regularly but aren't listed.

If you want to scale up from there you can learn private label selling, although that could be risky if we end up in a trade war with China. Or you can find companies with unique products that don't sell on Amazon yet and negotiate a partnership. There are literally infinite possibilities. If you can't make six figures a year off Amazon you probably shouldn't be selling online...

Clearance racks in America?

With 100K I would be on Alibaba or the crazier B2B version and buying things for pennies on the dollar and then selling them on Amazon. How do you think Amazon gets so much shit? Ebay works as well.

But... I would go half'zies on a bar with a local who is looking to run one. Granted he or she knows what they are doing. Passive income and possible franchise if your concept is well recepted.

Otherwise look around at local small sized ventures where people need $50K to get to the next level and perhaps somebody a little more business oriented than they are. So much money to be made offline.

The Coates family own Bet365 and as you say, they are incredibly successful. You won't necessarily earn big money as an affiliate unless you can drive masses of traffic through your links (some of the big Twitter tipsters who have huge numbers of followers have had success in this area).

That's what wholesale arbitrage is, sourcing products off Alibaba, Wholesale Brands, or any of an infinite number of wholesale boards and companies. But if you jump right in and blow your whole load you can easily end up losing it all. That's what I recommend starting slow and getting your feet wet with retail arbitrage, until you are comfortable with how it works and learn to identify what does and doesn't sell...

Yes

$100k in a promising sector/ETF, such as an ETF like "MJ" I imagine would be a pretty decent investment long term.
As more countries & states legalize it and the dominating players and companies emerge, I think being positioned in an ETF like this would have tremendous upside:

Disclosure: Just my opinion & should not be considered as financial advice

Crak_Eric 11-16-2018 01:10 PM

Oh, and other than Death & Taxes

Insurance companies & dollar stores would be the 2 other guarantees in life:

1. people are always going to get sick
2. there will always be a market for cheap shit

Like cheap dollar store cologne.
...Worst $1 ever spent

2 years ago i made i 'shadow wallet' at the stockbroker of all the american cannabis companies to see what the price would do. Plumped 90%. Some 99% and all more than around 65%.

I would go short on cannabis if possible. 90% of the companies are fakes, just there to get your money.

Can anybody does grow, are there a number of licenses? Cause growing marijuana is easy.

If you have some "fuck you" type money to throw at it then sure, but with so many other good companies out there to invest in, why bother?
