They're great dogs. I've had border collies most of my life, a total of 6 and as far as I'm concerned I wouldn't own any other breed. They are the smartest dogs alive, the perfect size, they don't leave those tiny ass hairs everywhere that are impossible to vacuum up, and are very friendly and loyal. Yes they are inherently working dogs but they are very adaptable and not as hyper as some people say, they don't need to run around all day long. Last year we went on a month long journey in the motorhome and they couldn't have been happier. What they want more than anything is to be with their owner and they will be content. If I was on the road constantly I wouldn't think twice about getting one.

Interesting.. I've been toying with getting a dog for my truck, but my biggest issue is the places I have to park it's not the kind of places I could let a dog run around. It would need to be on a leash 90% of the time.
I've had 2 Siberian Huskys and never again. I also had a Golden Retriever which was a great dog but too big.
I did adopt a dog once that just showed up at my warehouse I had when I sold used cars. I have no idea what it was, it definitely had Chow in it but had some sort of mix. Was same size as a Border Collie but didnt have the aggression of a Chow full breed.
Was a great dog and would be perfect for me on the road, but no idea what it was. I always suspected it was a mix of Chow/Collie due to its size. Was all black with a spotted tongue, it also loved kids. It went crazy when kids were around and loved to play with them.
