S7 Bluetooth issue. Any Ideas???

When I was listening to audio via bluetooth headphones and someone called me, both my phone and earbuds played my ringtone. My bluetooth headphones got wet and stopped working, so I ordered an identical pair.

With these ones, when I get a phone call, my phone rings in my pocket, but I get an electronic version of 'Charge of the light brigade' in beeps like a morse code, through the earbuds instead of the ringtone.

It's NOT a HUGE issue, cause I am still being alerted to the call, but just not getting the ringtone like I did before. Identical headphones - Everything else is he same and I have not changed any settings (I wouldn't know what settings to change) but anyway... Any ideas please?

TIA x

I would delete the headphone connection in bluetooth, then remake the connection with the new headphones. I have no idea if it will work, but it's free and easy and worth a shot.

Yeah, I did that anyway. Although they were the exact same make and model, I completely removed all traces of the pair that got wet, and reset the phone.

The new ones didn't turn up for like 24 hours later and then I connected them as fresh. Everything else works perfectly - Aside from the ringtone. :(

Did they fall in the toilet?

Not really. I rarely use a toilet... They were in my back pocket when I shat myself... I didn't bother cleaning up for a few hours, and when I did, they were really wet...:(

Gotcha :thumbsup

It's possible that even though they are the same headphones, they have a different chip inside if they found a cheaper supplier or something, or they could be defective.

Yeah, its just weird is all... Not the end of the world by any means, but just thought there may be a simple solution, but yeah, you are probably right. They must be slightly different in some way - I can live with it lol :thumbsup

OK, so here is a weird one. I was about to throw away the original, non working headphones yesterday, and decided to try one final charge to bring them to life. I plugged them in and nothing happened, but I got sidetracked and forgot about them for a couple of hours.

When I noticed them again, they had been charging ! I let them charge fully and repaired them with the phone - Guess what? They behaved in exactly the same way as the new pair !

This can only mean that the headphones haven't changed, but something with the phone has. Considering I have not been in the setting to mess about and I have not installed any new apps or deleted any, I can only think it's due to some kinda update to the phone...

Anyway, I thought Id post a follow up incase anyone has the same issue and searches in the future :)
