Other than that, what has he been doing for two years? I feel like it could be some dark, evil shit! But there has been little news coverage of him because Trump has dominated so much of the media coverage.

The office of Vice President is largely ceremonial.

With that said... Is Pence actively advocating for the removal of Trump? I doubt it. He is just quietly abiding his time.

I don't think too much of Pence, but I think Pence must be dying inside. Pence is very religious, and having a man who has cheated on every wife he has ever had must be killing him. Not to mention the constant stupidity.

I don't think Trump will let him come back in 2020. He'll choose someone better

No truly "very religious" person enters politics and succeeds like Pence. Think bout it. All religious leaders we see are in it for the big money, except the Catholic priests, they're in it for the children.

Another thing to consider, not one person Trump has picked to his cabinet is not corrupt, not one. Even Sarah Huckabee Sanders goes on TV and lies every day.

Perhaps Pence is staying low key because he really really feels bad about how his family's gas stations fucked over multiple states by going bankrupt and leaving leaking gas tanks all over the country that state tax payers now have to flip the bill on..
