Chris Matthews Predicts Trump Will Resign

Interesting article about how Mr. trump could resign.... "leverage the office while he still has it".

This is how bad it's gotten. Not only is everyone talking about impeachment, now they are talking about him resigning too.

Who the fuck is "everyone?" Do you even know what the word means?

crockett 12-18-2018 01:11 PM

No.. if its found he colluded with Russia to get into the WH.. He doesn't get off Scott free by resigning with some plea deal..

If it's some basic criminal activity then fine can resign but if that criminal activity resulted in tax payers being defrauded then he must pay.

Sure he does ... like Nixon .

Pence will then pardon him , if necessary ... : '' full and unconditional pardon for any crimes he might have committed against the United States while president.''

You should know that the justice has many faces....

When I say "everyone" i mean the legitimate news sources. You know, the ones we have all trusted for decades. Every one of them has articles about potential impeachment.

But you are right... I should have said "everyone is talking about impeachment except for Fox News, Breitbart, and silly little news blogs run by Republicans.

Opps, sorry:

http://insider.foxnews.com/2018/09/1...mp-impeachment

So, um, yes.... Pretty much every news agency out there is discussing the possible impeachment of Mr. trump.

Pretty much everyone.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why people continue to defend him. It's stunning. They say "oh, Trump is doing good on the economy". Trump walked into office with a perfect economy. He walked into office after unemployment had been cut in half, and had been trending down for six years. He walked into office with the DOW trending up for five years. Since then Mr trump has given a huge tax cut for the rich and started a full fledged trade wall with China....

He hasn't accomplished anything in two years.

Remember that Trump supporters wanted Trump to "shake things up" they just didn't realize what that really meant with massive layoffs, closing plants, billions in tarrifs, crashing stock market & recession.

All stock market gains for 2018 have been erased

We are now into November 2017 levels.

So Trump now effectively has 10 months of gains in 24 months

Listen. Understand. They can't be reasoned with, they can't be bargained with...they don't feel pity or remorse or fear...and they absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead.

I still can't name one good thing Trump has done for us. Not one.

The only thing he seems to have accomplished is passing a tax bill, which only works out well for the rich. Republicans will point to a list of things but these are all minor and routine. My favorite is adding on two justices to the Supreme Court. This is not an accomplishment, it's a routine task - a seat opens up, you find a replacement. It's like taking a shower in the morning. It's a task that is routine and you do every morning.

A lot of people are left with 2 options

1. Admit they were wrong for supporting trump (hard)

2. Keep supporting him (easy)

huey 12-18-2018 04:27 PM

I have to figure out a way to profit from Trump finishing his 4 year term. When I get it set up will take all action form anyone on this board that thinks he won't be your president for another two years.

Elli 12-18-2018 05:54 PM

Trump can't resign, because he'll be arrested the instant he signs the paper. He has to be removed one way or another.

bronco67 12-18-2018 06:06 PM

He's not smart enough to resign. Or maybe he knows the presidency is the only thing protecting him from criminal prosecution. He'd need to figure that out himself because I doubt he has a lawyer who would tell him that.

He would sign a deal saying he couldn't be charged if he resigned....

If you think about it, in the end it really makes sense. The way it stands now he will most likely be impeached, removed from office, and then face charges. OR... He can resign with a deal saying he will not be charged.

Trump has a knack for taking bad deals, not good ones.

I honestly don't think Trump has it in him to bail out at this point. Things will have to get a lot lot lot worse for him to bail out.

2MuchMark 12-18-2018 07:10 PM

From what I understand, Trump can't be arrested while he is in office. (Too bad - what an epic piece of news that would be).

I don' think Mueller can make an offer like "It's you, or your kids". Can he?

If he does, what would Donald do? Would he throw his kids under the bus and let them go to jail? Or would he go to jail to spare his kids?

Of course, anyone, anywhere, without question, would go to jail so their kids don't have to. But think about it. This is Donald. Would he go to jail for them?

We all know instantly that he would let his wife go to jail. He doesn't give a fuck about her. And maybe, just maybe, he would try to talk Don Jr. into moving into the slammer for a few years.. .. Ivanka though - she's different. Could he do that to her? And if he did, would the entire world ever, ever, let Donald off the hook for that? (And would Dirty Don care?)

There is no law that says a sitting President cannot be charged with a crime. The Office of Legal Counsel wrote a "memo" in 2000 saying a sitting President cannot be indicted because it would “impermissibly undermine” the ability of the President to do his job. However, a "Office of Legal Counsel memo" is not law but instead more of an opinion. However, this "memo" or opinion was most likely written because the President of the United States, along with other U.S. government officials, are routinely named in lawsuits when the U.S. Government is sued.

With that said... It really doesn't matter. Most likely what will happen is Mueller will indict Mr. trump, which would make his report open to the public. Then we will impeach him, remove him office, and then he will stand trial.

Every time we turn around there are crimes being committed. Today the White House is trying to spin the story on Trump Foundation. The Trump Foundation violated every law possible when running a charity. We had a similar case here with a local youth sports team here where someone used charity funds to pay $600 in car repairs (and other bills) and she ended up going to prison. We cannot even trust the President of the United States to run a charity foundation.

All of them need to go to prison.

RedFred 12-18-2018 08:16 PM

Trump could have went on screwing people and committing crimes for the next 20 years and getting away with it all but he fucked himself becoming President. His brand is now shit and there is no way he can dodge 17 different investigations. At the very least he will walk away from all this penniless due to uncovered tax fraud, and if there is any justice he will be locked away.

I was looking at the Trump foundation story. It goes much deeper than just the foundation being shut down and it's assets distributed to DA approved charities....that means actual charities instead of directly or indirectly funneled into the Trumps' slimy pockets.

It's serious trouble for Don Sr and Jr, Eric and Ivanka. With just this alone, many of them could end up in jail. If one of the other things doesn't nail them, this will.

That's it you don't, even though it has been explained to you numerous times by board members you simply won't accept it.

It's tragic but a natural symptom of NPC mentality.

In one way or another, Trump will not be POTUS a year from now.
Likely out by Sept.
I said many times here that he will likely be offered a deal to save the country the turmoil.

Part of me wants him to survive at least a year so I can watch the rest of the republicans run from him in disgrace.
Good for the rude awakening many need.

But if I remember right, they were running from him before he won the party nomination.

It's with out a doubt that he would be indicted on the pornstar payoffs if he wasn't a sitting president. If they have enough to put Cohen in jail on them and force a plea deal out of the enquirer then they have enough to do the same to Trump..

He is a unindicted conspirator in at least one felony related to just that case.. granted that in its self would be a lock him up throw away the key but it's still a fact he is a criminal and that's just the tip of the Trump tower..

Sabby 12-18-2018 09:31 PM

I am not concerned with porn pay-off. Just as I was unconcerned with Lewinsky and I didn't care for Clinton.

Just wait, the real juice is coming. Wait for the banana to peal.
It has to be done on the legal/legit side or even I will not support it.

He didn't want to be president. It was all to help his brand. But the con would only work if he didn't actually win. So remember when he seemingly did everything to lose the election, short of taking a shit at a rally? Well that "maverick" shit he was pulling was the very thing that appealed to knuckle dragging mongoloids.

He really does not have a net worth.

He is like a pyramid scheme with banks and debt and a generous cash flow from his Russian/Ukraine friends legitimizes his loans while he washes their money.

Oh... did I fail to mention his Saudi friends too...
