"Ready Poo'er One" Movie...

Just watched it. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Am going to watch it again.

First time I have watched a movie twice in years...

I saw it in the theatre. I didn't care for it that much. I really wanted to like it more too.

What I didn't like is that it turned into another 80's / ET style kids movie.

The part I really, really got excited about was where the characters end up at the Overlook Hotel. I actually said WOW loud enough for people to hear me a couple of rows down. It was the coolest idea, and I thought they would really go places with it. But this scene too let me down in the end. How they did it was fucking beautiful - it was perfect even - but.. they took this super cool idea and went nowhere with it in the end.

I usually watch movies 3 or 4 times and sometimes tend to like movies I disliked after a second viewing. I will give this one another try when it hits Netflix or something.

It had some of the charm of an 80's Spielberg summer movie...and not just because of the 80's references. The flow and pacing felt like old Spielberg.

What other directors can make tonally opposite movies like Ready Player One and The Post in the same year? He's a master.

I agree with Mark about the Shining part..he could have done a little more with that.
