I've never agreed with age discrimination laws for stuff like cigarettes and alcohol. If you can be sent to war at 18 then you should be able to drink or smoke. I see this as a violation of rights.

The government & businesses have no problem exploiting youth for their purposes but when it comes to having fun they're too imature.

If you're not mature enough to handle liquor and smoking at age 18 then you're not mature enough to make decisions about contracts or risking your life in the military.

Trying to have it both ways sends mixed signals and encourages young people to break the law.

Price of a single packet of 25 cigarettes here in Aus is around $30 USD .. $40 Aus. NZ is about the same

All advertising including any branding on the packet apart from a size 2 font saying the brand is banned. Most public spaces, parks, beaches and even prisons are smoke free. When you come in from overseas, your allowed one packet duty free.. one.

There is a very good reason: Human brain needs time to the early twenties to be fully grown. This mean alcohol and cigarettes which are affecting harder still growing brains shouldnt be consumed by people under 20 - 21.

Doing porn is something which has to do with self-determination and for that mostly humans over 15 around are able to decide - 18 is just a safe option cause everyone is different.

Driving a car or doing porn is totally different from substances your body has to deal with.
