Mega donors pushing Mitt Romney to run in 2020

Mega donors are cold on Trump and hot for Romney now.

Putin is going to have to put a shit load more money into Trump for his 2020 run :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Donors calling Romney adviser urging 2020 run against Trump: report

Rochard 01-02-2019 11:26 AM

I was against Romney when he ran. I didn't like his business ethics. It's an amazing business model really - you take other people's money, invest it into a company in distress, charge the company huge management fees, and hope the business turns around. If not, Romney's company Bain Capital make money no matter what. It's brilliant really. But in the long run they fuck up a lot of people's lives.

No matter... It will take me a long time for me to forgive the Republican party for what is happening right now.

ilnjscb 01-02-2019 11:33 AM

Then he loses 20% - 80% and is again branded a pariah in the republican party. Another stupid inheritor "born on 3rd base and thought he hit a triple".

Will be crazy to see. Romney has a shot. If trump doesn't do something like cure cancer third of his support is ready to walk.
All i know is I'm ready to switch to the winning team so i can mock the losers

Romney has no shot.

I know HuffingtonPost is a garbage publication run by a rich cunt who fucked for her money, but this is a fairly trusted poll, and it has republicans supporting Trump at 82%. Only a fool imagines that Trump loses support; there is no magic bullet. He can only be defeated by a concerted effort of a coalition of voters.

It's not about Romney having a shot :1orglaugh

It's about the huge division in the GOP and Romney distracting Trump and taking his energy :winkwink:

I disagree. I see Romney as a viable Republican candidate.

Take a look at most of the past Republican candidates in the last election. Half of them weren't even remotely qualified. Running a large business or being a doctor isn't qualified for President. I am sorry, but you need to be qualified... You either need to be a former state governor (or perhaps mayor of a very large US city such as NY, Miami, LA, San Fran), or a serious government job like Congress or Secretary of State.

Not so sure. Personally I can't stand the guy. He's 2-faced, he flip-flops all the time, He's a raider, etc. Then again, it would be nice to see a guy who trump treated like shit beat him in the election.

Then again, it would be even nicer to see Elizabeth Warren beat them both. Maybe Liz & Hillary can team up and put both of those punks to shame.

Sorry, R, I agree with you in many cases, but Romney has the worst political tin ear I've ever seen. All he is doing is ensuring he will be disregarded (again).

You ought to go ahead and come over to the centrist democrats. Your party will be a strange place for a few years.

I didn't say I liked him. I just said he is in fact a viable candidate - and a qualified one.

I don't like any of the current candidates.

Hillary - she's done for. Too many losses. Too old. Too much baggage.
Biden - Still not a Democrat. He was an independent who suddenly became a Democrat when he was running for office. Bullshit.
Warren - Oh hell no.

Who else?

Huh?

It's already happening.

Did you not read his op-ed today and the Republican reactions to it?

ruff 01-02-2019 06:47 PM

I hope Romney runs for president. I like the baggage this privileged asshole drags around with him.

Beto - He hasn't declared yet, but he is doing all the things people do before they announce. He can win.

Corey Booker - Young, energetic, but he has some political baggage. I still think he could beat Trump.

Bernie - While some love him, I think he is too old. Still, I think he would have a shot against Trump.

Republicans like to act like Trump crushed Hillary when in fact he barely beat her. Against a real candidate he might not be so lucky.

Actually, they have zero interest in the company surviving. Their entire business model is to destroy the company by gutting and selling anything worth any money at all but at the same time using the company as leverage for as many loans as tney can get.

It's honestly not amazing business. It's criminal theft and fraud.

Because they have done such an amazing job?

Or people don't care if they lose their earnings or jobs?

She is from California
The southern primaries will pick a black candidate
Cory Booker won't get the white liberal vote
All the white guys will be afraid to debate her
Who is your pick and on what justification?
