Why type of SSL allows Reddit to serve all content securely?
If I have Site.com and I am hotlinking some images, if I hot link an image from say Imgur, (a secure site) my site remains secure. However if I hotlink an image from a non secure site, my site gives a warning for insecure content.
How is a site like Reddit able to avoid this when people submit image links to insecure sites? I noticed that no matter what reddit always remains https:// secured. Thanks |
Can you post a link to a Reddit page with a non secure embedded image?

I know if you use something like cloudflare you can force non https element so things like that don't break your site - they're probably doing something similar

Reverse proxy, everything going out of the reverse proxy is encrypted.

Google "mixed content ssl" or "mixed content ssl proxy" and you will see different solutions.
