Who has seen the movie Venom?
 

I tried to watch it a few times and i kept shutting it off, as it just sucked so hard.
I then finally watched it with my kids, and they wanted to shut it off as well. I pushed for us to give it some more time to see if it turned around.


When Venom actually took over Eddie, the movie got super good. Was funny, it moved quickly and was fairly awesome.

I think they purposely made the movie suck awhile to pick it up when Venom appeared.

Thoughts?

I liked it, the beginning turned the concepts of ordinary cookie cutter action movies on their head. I spent the beginning wondering, well, well, well, oh cool.

I really liked it, but I've been a Venom fan since he first showed up in comic books.

I keep hoping for a Morbius movie, I think they could do a lot with that character.

I thought it got worse when Venom appeared. The whole thing was fucking silly. If you want to see a better movie with a similar concept, watch Upgrade.

Does Venom actually talk that way, or does he use Eddie's psyche to communicate? I only ask because if Venom is an alien, then its name probably is not Venom and it doesn't speak English. It is also not male or female. It's just energy which harnesses the host's persona to become whatever shape it takes. I guess I just answered my own question.

And I'm not bothered by movies that take their time to get to the good stuff. I'd much rather see that than a movie that blows its wad early and ends with a whimper. This movie was a whimper from start to finish because of the writing and Tom Hardy's weird acting choices.

It have flows but it serve the purpose. Plus there is'nt much choices in that genre anyway.
And Venom is alien name, as when he was fighting with other alien, that alien had name too, riot.

Well that's just fucking stupid because aliens aren't humans and don't speak English. But this is also a superhero movie so I shouldn't overthink it too much.

Yeah also they take over their host fully which means they can speak the language

I watched it in 4D, it kicked ass that way!

I've stopped watching it last night. I simply couldn't it was too stupid. Was just thinking should I try to finish it tonight.

I just finally watched it one-day last week and I thought it was great. Yes, it starts off sorta slow but I always give movies a chance to get better and it did.:2 cents:

Actually the preview was the best version, because the movie sucked large.

We were disappointed in it. Tom Hardy is a great actor...but this movie was below him.

I kinda felt like they were trying to do a tamed down DeadPool (which I thought was great).

Fucking horrible.

i love a good sci fi movie, and Upgrade is an entertaining enough movie but not that good. It has a cheap B movie feel to it throughout. Still a lot better than any of the superhero crap :2 cents:
