So I was listening to Rush Limbaugh yesterday

Yes! GFY's biggest Libby listens to Rush Limbaugh. If I'm driving in the middle of the day somewhere, I'll tune in to 620 AM Radio (NY State I think) to listen to Rush. I'm not kidding.

Anyway yesterday, he was talking about the Wall, and how he expects that if Trump declares an emergency, that it will be defeated in the courts. Maybe... ! Makes sense to me.

But then I started listening to HOW he said it, and HOW he speaks. This guy is a genius. Try listening to how he says things next time and maybe you'll hear what I heard.

First, he's always angry. He talks like a pissed-off trucker. I wondered why, but then I realized: Hey - if I'm a pissed off trucker, or a pissed-off person, I would be more likely to listen to someone who is also pissed off.

The next thing I noticed is that he peppers what he says with alot of blame. He didn't just say Trump's actions would be defeated in the courts. He said "The American Gothics Schumer and Pelosi" will look for a Trump-hating / Liberal Judge until they find one that will declare Trump's emergency action illegal.

This is great stuff! Rush is pissed off like his listeners, tells them things to get them more pissed off, and lays the blame all at the same time, as if he is giving me a target to blame and a reason for my anger, all at once.

I kept listening, and he did this again, and again, and again. Sometimes it's obvious, but mostly it's a slow-burn of resentment. I don't watch his videos, but I can see the same resentment in people like Sean Hannity, and especially in Judge Jeanine Pirro.

In one way I always knew it was there. Listening yesterday though was like an epiphany. By brother is a gun-loving right-wing Obama-hating Fox News-watching Truck Driving Red-hatted Trump-is-awesome guy who has everything, and he is 100% pissed off all the time. Yesterday, I realized where he gets it from.

That's how they get attention. Anger. People are angry. For no reason.

The "other day" was 2011 - when Trudope originally said this.

Good point you're makin' with the timeline, tho.

I used to listen to Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura and the rest of them daily on my long drive home when I worked in LA and commuted home to Orange county. Rush gets people who are sad, angry, hopeless, lost, depressed, disappointed, stressed etc. and he weaves a story to redirect that negative energy to a hateful political purpose and conditioning listeners to certain trigger words/phrases to easily associate those stories in the future. It's an awful hurtful way to make a living, but that's Rush Limbaugh.

Never forget Rush Limprod was caught at a airport with shitloads of oxycottens and viragas. He's a pill addict who cheats on his wife..

A true consertive hero..

If it were legal to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theatre...Limbaugh would show up to every movie with a megaphone.

No, you weren't listening yesterday because this is from March 2011. He also never said what the meme claims he is saying. Read the story:

From https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/tru...marks-1.985386 :

Quote:

Liberal MP Justin Trudeau offered an apology and retraction Tuesday over comments he made about the description of honour killings as "barbaric" in a new citizenship guide.

The controversy around Trudeau started brewing on Monday when the MP, who is immigration critic for his party, was asked for reaction to the government's new citizenship guide released earlier in the day. The publication is used as the study guide for Canada's citizenship test.

The updated Discover Canada booklet includes a line that says, "Canada's openness and generosity do not extend to barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, 'honour killings,' female genital mutilation, forced marriage or other gender-based violence."

The term "barbaric" has been in the guide since 2009, but "forced marriage" was added to the line in this new version.

Trudeau took the government to task, however, for using the term "barbaric" and said an official government publication should make an "attempt at responsible neutrality." He said the acts are "absolutely unacceptable" and that's not a matter of debate, but the language chosen by the government to describe them is objectionable, the MP said.

Trudeau began posting messages around 7:45 a.m. ET, setting off a chain of back-and-forth posts with his followers: "My problem with the use of the word barbaric is that it was chosen to reassure Canadians rather than actually change unacceptable behaviours," Trudeau wrote.

Through several exchanges with people on Twitter, Trudeau explained his position and expressed surprise that his comments generated such a reaction. "I didn't expect people to react to this: I said the same back in 2009 about Barbaric and no one picked up. Election-time now," Trudeau wrote.

Trudeau sought to put an end to the online debate with this message: "OK, final word: all violence against women is barbaric. If my concerns about language led some to think otherwise, then I gladly apologize."

People like the person who made this meme use it to troll idiots like you. Don't be an idiot. Spend more time researching and less time being tricked.

I too listen, not much anymore. It's always nice to have a understanding to where the sheep are being taken for the wool.
But if you have noticed, Trump listens to him too, along with certain FOX anchors. Providing a bit of a road map. Listen the night before and know just about what trump is going to tweet the next day.

Yes you are correct, a pissed-off white man seems to work.
Just look at what happened to Kavanaugh hearings. That's when I fully understood how effective it was.

edit...
perhaps I should do my...
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore !

Meh, I don't really care, unless he preaches telling people not to cheat on their wives and not to do drugs, then he can do whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned.

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."
-- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

Hahaha... LOL... I didn't know he said that.

Diomed 01-11-2019 06:23 PM

He's right about Pelosi and Schumer though..

A smart democrat would NEVER put those two robots on national tv again.

Some things don't need words..
