In California knowingly infecting others to HIV no longer a felony

Gov. Jerry Brownhasigned a bill Friday that lowers from a felony to a misdemeanor the crime of knowingly exposing a sexual partner to HIV without disclosing the infection.

The measure also applies to those who give blood without telling the blood bank that they are HIV-positive.

You know... I thought so too. Then I read the article. These laws were created a long time ago when getting HIV from a partner was a death death sentence. Now.... People can live the rest of their lives with HIV. So.... That makes it more like herpes or any other STD.

I am not saying I agree with it, but I can understand the logic.

Crappy thing to do - sign a bill on your last day.

I would never usually wish aids on anyone but it would be fitting for that clown to be purposely infected and see how he likes it.

I think it should be illegal with automatic jail sentence to give blood knowingly with HIV and purposely not telling them you're infected that's just evil. Same for sex without disclosing. Not everyone can afford medication and medications don't work on everyone and all medications have side effects on some people. At a minimum, knowingly giving someone HIV is incurring them a lot of money in future medications & doctor's visits.

Dude.. You are fucking nuts to make that equation.

Mr Pheer 01-11-2019 06:26 PM

They should make it a misdemeanor when you murder that asshole that knowingly gave you a deadly disease.
