Bit.ly and adult?

Hey folks!

It's been ages I had to shorten URLs but the time has come. Does Bit.ly still allow adult? More specifically, a camsite. I did some research and I got ambiguous info so I am reaching out to see if it's still smooth sailing or if I should use an other, more adult-friendly service for this.

thx in advance!

I can not find anywhere on their TOS that they do not allow adult:

It works now but don't assume it will be that way forever.

You're better off using your own service.

If you need a hand to set one up let me know.

I had problems with them blocking some of the URLS or showing some stupid warning windows...

I uses tr.im but they closed and I lost lots of links, stats and traffic...

So my advice is to either use TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL or build something on your own... YOURLS: Your Own URL Shortener is a great and free script... Let me know if you need help setting it up...

Same here, I was messing around with a 301'd domain and trying to get a batch of individual short urls essentially pointing to the same domain but bitly shits the bed and throws up a warning page before the redirect. No problems doing the same with tinyurl :thumbsup

they don't allow
Bit.ly is apparently pulling this malicious site info from StopBadware.org and antiphishing.org, just as many other services do.

if they are on the list there you go... i had it happen. check the links b4 or risk the warning
