The Recent Password Hacks

I read about a website where you can enter an email to see if it appears on any website, plus where it was taken from. Around 3 billion emails are supposedly in their combined database.

I ran three emails so far and my spam email got hit hard. I changed the password last week fortunately. Of the twelve things they could get, they got password and name too from bitly. I’ve never been there or several others listed.

Only the email address is needed.

And yes, I’m dumping the email above for a new one. 99% is spam so I’ll filter the good ones and notify them. I changed password but I get too many spams.

Do NOT use the site posted above.

The only safe site to use and the most complete is https://haveibeenpwned.com

I really hate it when MORONS post misleading and dangerous shit like this.

Reminds me of back in the day were there were these sketchy websites that would say "Enter your credit card number to check if its been stolen."

And people would actually do it, by the thousands. LOL.

Great way to collect a base of valid email addresses for spamming.

https://haveibeenpwned.com is legit. Run by Troy Hunt, well known security researcher.

The link posted by the OP is to a University research lab who had a database stolen in an attack on their own site. Not to be trusted. Pretty much anything posted by the OP is mindless dribble. And I get she's disabled but sometimes you gotta call out the fuckwits.
