Google Popunders
I see they blocking popunders now on Chrome - as in blocking sites that use popunder making the ads not opening, how do you guys aproach this? To what interaction do you attach the popunder?
|
I think people relying on popunders should think of a different strategy.
It's still possible to show them. VladS, you can hit me if you need a working sample :thumbsup |
The question is how to attach the popunder trigger without upsetting Google.

Misleading Site Behavior
Page features such as scroll bars, play buttons, “next” arrows, close buttons, or navigation links that lead to an ad or landing page when clicked. |

Any site that does not comply with the Better Ads standards will find that this year Chrome, Safari and Firefox will begin blocking all ads on sites that don't comply. The simple solution is not to fuck over surfers and follow the better ads standards. https://betterads.org If you can't do that then there's no sympathy for you because sites that fuck over surfers with popups and popunders and crypto miners causes us all harm. The next version of the Node.XXX crawler will automatically detect and report sites that don't comply with the Better Ads standards. We already de-index sites that don't comply however now we will be letting Bing and Google know about sites that don't comply automatically. |
@ak,
Thanks for the link, will follow up and also forward it to the client. His site got banned by Google due to having the popunder attached to nav links. |
