Winter WAS Mild

Was less was than a foot this winter. By last night we had another nine inches.

Today

Heavy snow continues. Total snow accumulations of around 6 to 14 inches. Snow has a heavy, wet consistency over RI and Southeast MA where downed limbs and power outages have ...

Another fourteen inches and I have to be in Boston tomorrow for a doctor appointment. Looks like I can sleep late tomorrow.

That's a lot of snow!

You should make one of these today :D

We've had the most rain here in Southern California this winter than I can ever remember. We're officially out of the drought here now. Great news!

Here in Northern California it's been raining constantly. We have a lot of local flooding here. Thankfully, my home town here knew we had a problem with flooding and they worked on it for years. We have what is called the Auburn Ravine that passes through town, and when it rains like this the ravine becomes more like a small river. In the past it's closed down a few main roads. They spent years working on this, and now we have new bridges and a huge flood basin. The roads that are closed are outside of town and under control of the county.

We need the rain so... No one is complaining. If I understand correctly, all of the local reservoirs are full AND it's going to rain for the next six or seven day so.... We are great right now.

It's been shitty here in Pennsylvania. Just had to pull a douche move with my Jeep.

It wasn’t too bad. School was canceled on Saturday for today but we had maybe five inches. But about nine inches on the ground already and this is wet and heavy. Freezing temps means ice, ice and ice. They canceled my appointment and rescheduled for Thursday at 3:00. Means I’ll be out in ninety minutes and will hit major traffic. Hopefully I can convince them to take backroads. More scenic and less traffic.

One CNA lives twenty minutes away usually but today she took sixty-five minutes to get here. She said she saw at least thirty cars stranded on the highway route 195 and a dozen on route 88. 88 is a two-lane highway with few turnoffs. If you’re stuck, you’re stuck. Not many houses along there.

My former house in Maine is buried under several feet of snow. The beach in back looks like a skating rink with no sand visible.

On the news is a house in upstate NY with about five feet of ice — not snow — surrounding the house. Other sites have a picture of the house without ice. I can’t fathom what the inside is like if water snuck in. And it’s a vacation home so no one has been sealed inside!
