Pizza
What’s your favorite toppings for pizza? I’m a mushroom and sliced red pepper kinda woman and add chicken if I need protein. Light on cheese, too
I ask because someone just said they only like sliced pickles on pizza. My blood pressure went up thinking about the sodium and my stomach turned over at the ickiness of pickle pizza. I only eat thin crust pizza and never, ever will try cauliflower crust pizza. Octopus pizza is popular around New Bedford and Fall River since the Portuguese love lapas or octopus. Cacoila, too, marinated pork butt in spices. Pronounced ka-serlah I found out when ordering it for the first time as ka-koy-lah. |

Okay, I'm done posting pizza selfies. For now.
What kind of pizza toppings do I like? Anything. Except for pineapple. That's just wrong. Generally speaking I like a meat lovers combo with lots of cheese. I have a FB group for pizza lovers if anyone is into it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pizzaloversassociation/ |
OMG a true pizzaholic! The crust is thick but they’re generous with toppings. Do you eat it all?
I tried ham and pineapple pizza once. It was okay but nothing I’d try again. Fruit on pizza is wrong yet tomatoes are a fruit they say. The half cheese half meat version looks good. Not too filling and not boring. Now I’m going to sleep thinking about pizza! In three hours I’ll be sleeping and dreaming of pizza-covered men with big pepperonis |

The ham and pineapple used to be a favorite of mine, but I've grown up since then. I do it very rarely. I love cheese. OMG. The one thing I haven't tried is Chicago Deep Dish pizza. Nothing against it; It's just that when I want to do it I want to go all out..... Meaning fly out to Chicago just to try it for the first time at a real historic Chicago pizza place.... |
shooms! rochard wins!! do you make your own? i started long time ago making dough. sometimes i put garlic or something else in there :1orglaugh those pies look good! :thumbsup:thumbsup

I get pizza and wings every Friday and a place called Bourbon Street Pizza (local chain to this area).
Here are the two I normally pick from The Italian -Regular Pizza Sauce, Pepperoni, Fresh Mushrooms, Diced Ham, Red Onions, Tomatoes, Banana Peppers, & Mozzarella Cheese (banana peppers are great on pizza) or Supreme-Regular Pizza Sauce, Pepperoni, Mild Italian Sausage, Fresh Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Red Onions, Black Olives, & Mozzarella Cheese I always get hand tossed crust. Last night I tried something different 5-meat- Regular Pizza Sauce, Pepperoni, Mild Italian Sausage, Bacon, Ground Beef, Diced Ham, & Mozzarella Cheese (but I had them use BBQ sauce instead of pizza and extra cheese and it was great) I use to eat one or two Jacks frozen pizzas a week but I'm on a diet so I cut out pizza other than Friday. I like pineapple on a Hawaiian pizza. |

Best thin crust pizza is at Mikey B’s on Acushnet Avenue across from Trucchi’s supermarket and a pretty good Chinese restaurant. The crust is basically four layers of phyllo or filo dough. Paper-thin without tons of cheese and toppings, you can eat a whole pizza and not be too full. I eat half today and half tomorrow. Riccardi’s in New Bedford is tiny and has steps so no wheelchair access. I like that their pizza is just ten inches, not twelve. You can share and not overeat. I’m not a pizza size queen lol. I’m going to Mikey B’s this week. Owner is the guy from..... damn I can’t think of that name, it was a high-end restaurant in Fairhaven that I loved. He had a second restaurant in New Bedford that did well. I can picture it..... Marion had a great place with thin crust pizza but it wasn’t Italian, they had a mixed menu. Near the Walsh estate on the water, with a dress code. A dozen years ago they got $9.95 for a lunch hamburger and fries and you had to dress well. No jeans or sneakers, no hats, no low-cut tops and no men without ties. I ate there thirty years ago after mom had a mastectomy. She wore a light shirt with a v neck and her bandages showed a bit. They told her to put a coat on. Mom refused, saying as a cancer patient she needed light clothing and access to adjust herself if a bandage slipped. He didn’t care and mom said he was discriminating against a breast cancer patient and she wasn’t showing cleavage or anything other than a bandage. The owner came over, apologizing and saying she was fine and he’d comp our meal, and encouraged us to eat lobster. $105 later, he gave us a $100 gift card but we refused it. $205 was too much to offer for rudeness. We told everyone about it and he made up the $105 easily! Damn now I really want pizza |
