Jussie Smollett speaks out about living with HIV

"As Smollett told The New York Times, Empire writers had been planning an HIV storyline since the show launched in 2015, but the timing was never quite right. Now, Smollett hopes his character’s relationship with Kai (played by Toby Onwumere) will help eradicate stigma and “normalize” the realities of living with HIV today."

"When HIV is no longer detected in someone’s blood test, they cannot transmit the virus to sexual partners."

I do not believe this to be true.

I think the virus is transmitted, but in such low levels that it takes much longer for the infected to register a positive test. And by that time they do not suspect that the actual source was the source.

Here's a study on the concern of people on PrEP donating blood and how they can be HIV+, but the test equipment can't detect it.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28370177

If it's a bad thing for HIV- people to receive blood from someone who is HIV+ (on meds, undetectable) then OBVIOUSLY it's also bad for a HIV- person to receive the semen of a HIV+ (on meds, undetectable) person.

As far as I know, HIV treatment is not free in your country. How much do you pay for it?

Glad that’s debunked. I’m sure he was fired but I’ve read articles that he’ll do this or that on the show.

I want to see him come up with $130,000 in a few days for the police department

Trying for that sympathy now that everyone hates him.

You keep up this lie and I'll block you.

You saying this every time you chose to adress me and me having to deny it every time you address me is just tedious stupid bullshit. If the only thing you can do to make fun of the Gay guy is to say he has AIDS then you shouldn't say anything at all. You're not funny.

At first what you were doing seemed light-hearted and funny now it seems you're hell-bent on a concerted effort to spread the lie that I have HIV or AIDS which I don't and you know that.

Do it again and I'll permanently block you. Find some other thing that's actually funny if you want to get under my skin. Saying I have a transmittable disease isn't funny and if you do it again you'll be blocked and never get a reaction from me again.

If lying about someone having a disease, every time you initiate a conversation with them, is the only way you can get your jabs in, you don't respect me enough to stop doing it, then you're not worth talking to anyway.
