Why do people say "You are born alone and you die alone" ?
The death part is debatable. You may well die alone, or you may die surrounded by loved ones... But you are not 'Born alone' are you?
You are born with a team of dedicated medical specialists around you and then you have parents, or 'A' parent, or government appointed carers around you for at least 16 years... Even if you are born in the middle of nowhere, you still have your mother with you. You are NOT alone... So what's that all about then? |
At the bare minimum you are not alone at death as all the memories of life are with you. Everyone you've ever loved, or made love to. Everything that's ever made you smile or feel good, it's all there with you. Wheras at birth you have no memories, but you are not alone physically, and you scream & cry at the shock of your first memories & sensory experiences are created.

You also die alone. No one is going with you. No matter how many people are around you, it's still a solitary endeavor. |
At least life starts with pussy!

I've always thought about the "die alone" thing as well.. so by their logic you could say someone "died alone with his family by his side" and why does it matter anyways, dead people don't need any company :) |
