Last week, Facebook announced it would ban white nationalism and separatism content, in addition to the white supremacy content it already prohibits. Today, we're getting a sense of which accounts that might include. According to BuzzFeed News, Facebook will ban groups, Pages and Instagram accounts associated with Faith Goldy, the Canadian Nationalist Front, Soldiers of Odin, Wolves of Odin, Kevin Goudreau and the Aryan Strikeforce.

Each of the individuals and organizations have expressed white nationalist sentiments, which as BuzzFeed points out, violate Facebook's policy on dangerous individuals and organizations. These groups have elicited the most public outcry, but Evan Balgord, executive director of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, told BuzzFeed, they're just the tip of the iceberg, and there are multiple other groups Balgord believes are violating Facebook's policies.

Of course, this follows on the heels of Australia's new laws that hold social media companies responsible for any violent or inciting content they host. The UK is looking to take a similar approach, and hate-sweeping bans like this one might soon become a regular occurrence.

Can they really ban anything. Recent moves by the British government would prove Facebook and other social media giants are unable to police their networks. UK to introduce world first online safety laws.

Trumpers don't like freedom for anyone but themselves. They want the freedom to hate, but don't want the platforms they spread their hate on to have the freedom to not have any parts of that.

the western civilsation is based on a very broad range of different opinions. broad but not infinitely broad. because if you want to have them infinitely broad then you have to accept islamist terrorist sites and bomb building instructions.

with morality there is also a need for some standard that does not extend infinitely to the left or right because if not, the moral would not make sense at all.

They're very flawed bitter people who get off being acknowledged by normal functioning people. They thrive on negative responses because they feel like they're really bringing someone of value down to their level. It's unfortunate but it is what it is.

Lies should always be deleted what ever side they come from. But you missed my main point that FB is capable of regulating their platform and they choose to do it very selectively.

I am pretty sure that every big company will do it selectively within the spectrum of the majority. and there is nothing wrong because as long as we do have values that are representing the majority we should fight for them and not give every idiot a stage to spread lies and hate.
