Sorry I watched it.
that might take the gold medal for half of fame sports injury. |
That was fucking brutal. Can't unsee.
|
Damn... That sucks
|
Dam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw that earlier and was in shock. Two broken legs and two dislocated knees. The sheer pain she must have been in astounded me
It will take months until she can put weight on those limbs and she may have a permanent limp. The vsion of the legs breaking will stay with me for a long, long, long time. All those years of training and all that money for training and no medals. She can coach Olympic gymnasts and have a great career but nothing compares to wnning an Olympic medal. I’m sure they’ll be studying the films to figure out what happened. The landing looked good to an untrained eye but the odds of both knees AND legs breaking at once is astronomical. Remember the ABC Sports intro of “the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat” with the skier falling from the jump? This should replace that. Slipping on snow before you jump is bad ... but this gives agony a new meaning. |
No thanks...think I'll skip watchin' that one.

Gymnastics is BRUTAL on the body.

That's what they call "the Career Ender"

I've clicked 1 too many links today but thanks anyway

Looks like she had too much power behind the spin combined with not optimal angle hitting floor. But what do I know. :1orglaugh

http://beta.ems.ladbiblegroup.com/s3...8f1bf59656.png Gymnast Samantha Cerio Gets Surgery After Horrific Knee Dislocation - Not Broken Legs Thank GOD The video of gymnast Samantha Cerio dislocating both knees while performing a routine has been the most grisly thing the internet has thrown us recently - and, as you know, the internet has a lot of gruesomeness at the best of times, so that just proves how stomach turning this is. Just in case you really need us to spell this out for you, this one really is as grim as you'd imagine, so consider yourselves warned - you'll need to skip to the 39 minute mark, which is when her routine begins. Cerio, an Auburn University gymnast in the States, suffered the horrific injuries during the Baton Rouge Regional, an event on the National Collegiate Athletic Association calendar. 22-year-old Cerio, who is due to get married in two months, was attempting her first go at a handspring double front flip with a blind landing, but came up just short and sent both her legs bending backwards unnaturally. OUCH. Cerio's coach, Jeff Graba, confirmed she had suffered two dislocated knees and multiple torn ligaments in both knees, also saying she would be undergoing surgery on Monday afternoon. |
Tolls of the trade I guess . . .
|
Glad she didn’t break both legs as reported worldwide. Usually when they come up short, they simply fall backwards.
Torn ligaments plus the dislocated knees ..... doubt she’s going to walk down the aisle. Many websites didn’t show the landing. I know it’s graphic but they’ve shown worse online. There was a pictorial on BuzzFeed of awkward landings and one pic showed a weightlifter about to raise the weight bar and his left arm bent in half. Brutal. |
