Lori Loughlin and her husband plead not guilty in college admissions scandal
I wonder who gave them that bit of advice. I usually suggest if going to trial and innocent to let the judge hear your case, if guilty, go with a jury trial.
Not sure jurors will be sympathetic to them though. |

You make no sense. Isn't it a little early to be so inebriated?

Felicity Huffman's guilty plea a "very bad sign" for Lori Loughlin, legal expert says If Lori makes them go to trial, there will be no plea deals offered. Lori is doing real prison time. |

She is likely just trying to buy time for herself so her lawyer can work out some sort of deal with the prosecution. This kind of thing happens all the time. Plead not guilty then admit to lesser charges later.

Do you idiots actually think you plead guilty and then make a deal?

I could care less about any of this. Rich people got their kids into college. This happens every day. If any of these people donated the money directly to the college their kids would have gotten in.

Sad I have to explain how the legal system works to an 80 year old man. Most criminal defendants plead not guilty at the arraignment hearing. By pleading not guilty, the criminal defendant buys time. This gives his or her defense lawyer the opportunity to review the case and to assert all possible defenses. If a criminal defendant pleads not guilty to the charge he or she is facing, this plea can be withdrawn at any later point in time to a plea of no contest or to guilty. A guilty plea may be entered after a criminal defense lawyer negotiates a favorable plea agreement on behalf of the client. Because of the availability of changing a plea to guilty later on, most criminal defendants plead not guilty at the arraignment because they know they can later change the plea if they do reach a favorable agreement. https://www.hg.org/legal-articles/pl...n-guilty-40222 |
