(D) Mayor of Texas border town charged in illegal voting scheme

When will Democrats learn it's illegal to fix elections?

Quote:

A Texas mayor was charged Thursday in an illegal voting scheme.

Richard Molina, the mayor of Edinburg, a city along the U.S.-Mexico border that is home to U.S. Customs and Border Protection operations in the Rio Grande Valley, was arrested and charged with engaging in organized election fraud and two counts of illegal voting, according to the Associated Press.

His wife, Dalia, was charged with one count of illegal voting. Eighteen people total have been arrested in the scheme.

Authorities allege Molina encouraged voters to lie about their addresses. He was elected in 2017, beating Edinburg’s longtime mayor by about 1,200 votes.

City spokeswoman Cary Zayas said Molina “very adamantly” denies wrongdoing.

The Texas attorney general’s office declined to say whether the outcome of the election was affected by the alleged fraud.

It’s unclear what Molina’s party affiliation is. Municipal elections in the state are nonpartisan.

The arrests come amid controversy over efforts by he Texas secretary of state’s office to purge voter rolls, claiming that thousands of registered voters could be noncitizens.

the guy looks like the kind of mayor many communities would want

Anyways so a recap, 18 charges, 2 of those being Molina himself and one for his wife, reason being they used his apartment address and not their home address.

So 15 others.

And to get that... Republicans trolled though a list of 98,000 voters who they flagged as possibly not being citizens, only 80 of the original 98,000 were identified as being ineligible to vote and from that 15 got busted doing it.

Amerika!!!

I wonder what's going on there now this 0.02%, not of the vote but of those flagged for fraud have finally been charged.

And I'd guess its all in the first line huh?

Oh so now you don’t care about election meddling when it’s illegal mexicans. You guys launched a 2 year investigation spending 30 millions dollars when you thought some Russians meddled spending 5k on facebook ads (not even casting votes which actually do affect the election)

Republicans flagged 98,000 people they said were casting wrong votes, from that 98,000 18 were charged, 2 convicted 0.02%, the mayor and his wife, crime.. he has a house and an apartment block and they used the address of the apartment block cos they were living there at the time. ie: HIGHLY likely its discharged in court.

Extra Votes cast.. ZERO

Pulled up on a technicality, question is why did the 15 NOT convicted use his address as well? Homeless VETs? Other family members?

hardly an election fraud obviously Republicans need him removed desperately... Edinburg, a city along the U.S.-Mexico border that is home to U.S. Customs and Border Protection operations:

I'm sure they will care about this case when you actually denounce the Republican party for the voter fraud that took place in North Carolina, was proven, and affected the outcome of the race to the point where they are going to do the election over (which is wrong, those who got caught cheating should be forced to hand the victory to their opponent).

I certainly don't remember you all that upset about that.

This is a great example of fake news. The story itself is true, but the people involved are not Democrats.

This is a great example of how fucking stupid you are. What do you think he was signing up illegal Mexicans to vote Republican?
