Federal court strikes down Ohio GOP illegal gerrymandering

It's great that the courts are striking down all of the GOP illegal gerrymandering since the only way Republicans win is by cheating and lying :thumbsup

"A panel of three federal judges struck down Ohio’s congressional map on Friday, ruling the districts were so severely drawn to benefit Republicans that they violated the U.S. Constitution. "

Court Strikes Down Ohio Congressional Map, Says Too Gerrymandered To Benefit GOP

The panel blocked Ohio lawmakers from using the map in any future elections, and gave lawmakers until June 14 to come up with a new plan.

Republicans controlled the redistricting process in 2011 and drew lines that gave them a 12-4 electoral advantage in the state’s congressional delegation. They have maintained that advantage since.

Nice.. There was another state that Republican illegal gerrymandering was ruled illegal last week as well. I forget which but it was another so called "red state"..

the people taking these cases to the Court are the true patriots. They are doing a valuable service to this country.

Also the Cali Senate just passed a bill to keep candidates off the ballot if they don't provide their tax returns. I assume it still has to go through the Cali House and then the Governor has to sign it to law.

Edit.. it was Michigan that was ruled to be illegal gerrymandered last week..

The traitors aka Republicons are trying to appeal it but they don't have much of a leg to stand on..

Last week, a panel of three federal judges found that Michigan Republicans violated the 1st and 14th amendments by drawing political districts in 2011 that “deliberately dilute the power of [Democratic voters in Michigan] by placing them in districts that were intentionally drawn to ensure a particular partisan outcome.”

You know what sucks?

They redraw the map again in 2021

So they'll do the same illegal shit and it will take years to go through the court again.

Every time they draw a new district map it's good for 10 years and doesn't change. The last time they drew the map was in 2011

It's good to see more and more of these rulings coming down.

That was funnier than shit watching bail on that thread after I called you out for your racism, racist. :1orglaugh
