Why do Trains Suck in America? and Why does Public Transportation Suck in America?
|
Compared to the UK i'd agree, compared to India not so much !
|
because people would rather drive cars.
|
Because we can afford cars?
Check this... Most of us have cars we only drive on weekends. |

Public transit???
Fuck that shit because I'm not sitting next to some asshole that might smell bad or have to endure someone's crying baby or whatever other annoying pathetic crap that goes with public transport. I can sit in my car where it's nice, comfortable and listen to my music. Plus I can reach over and put my hand up my woman's skirt whenever I damn well want. Europeans with their public transit, trains and love of communism can go fuck themselves. |
America never really had a train culture.
They don't see trains as a symbol of progress |
Nah bruh, the subway was like a daily old style wooden rollercoaster for me as a kid.
I dont want it to change. If NYC subways became a smooth luxury ride, it would ruin everything. But to answer the thread title, lack of a fuck to give/funding. We into cars out here. Where you from? |

A good tram and metro system would solve a lot of traffic problems in major city in America. |

When I worked for Dating Factory they flew me out to England for a week of training. Instead of picking me up and taking me to my hotel, they had me take the Underground to the train station, met me at the train station, and then we took the train to the train station near my hotel, and then a car to my hotel.... It was exhausting. Instead of picking me up and taking me to my hotel, I had to take the underground to the train and then the train to the car and then the car to the hotel. I had to wait for the Underground, and I had to wait over an hour at the train station.
It just seemed like a massive waste of time. |

In San Diego traveling from Solana Beach to LA on the Pacific Coast Trains you are lucky if they arrive within 20 minutes of the expected time and then only 6 trains a day stropping at around 8pm. Now thats a poor service :2 cents: |

Where I am in Sydney there's no trains, however other parts of the city are primarily served by trains for transportation, its how the majority here get to work in the morning. Surprisingly Australia still doesn't have any fast trains, they've been arguing about them for 20 years. |

Wishful thinking on the elevated tracks. problem here is mainly the distances between cities and the great voids of nothingness between them.
In Europe when you travel, around every corner is another village, a nuclear power plant or a Volkswagen factory followed by another village, where as here in Australia there's no corners and thousands of miles of.. nothing. So there's not the demand that Europe has where their population is along transportation routes and we don't have the infrastructure. European cities the train stations are so you can popup in the middle of the city, there's no better, quicker or safer way to travel there. |
"Why do Trains Suck in America? and Why does Public Transportation Suck in America?"
because everyone drives there. also, a wealthy state doesn't mean that the poor drives cars, it means that the rich rides public transport (look at seoul or tokyo f.ex.) |
