Drinking on keto diet
I starting keto diet next week, tho it seems it kind a limits drinking choices.
I found this article: https://perfectketo.com/keto-drinks-...nic-diet/#soda and it seems everything what i usually drink , it's not allowed. But again it's allowed to drink heavy drink, but usually i dont drink heavy drinks at all. Is it possible to make some vodka powered cocktail which will taste good but still be "keto-compliant" ? |
If you're starting keto, I'd guess it's for some kind of health benefit. So why would you keep drinking, since it's just empty calories and not very good for your health? It's kind of like buying an expensive air purifier but you don't stop smoking.
And why are you doing Keto? It's for suckers. |
This is not rocket science. You have to keep your carbs down. Period. That is the whole point. The short version is that you simply have to avoid and/or limit alcohols with sugars and carbs - beer, white wines, sweet red wines, whiskeys etc etc. If you like gin, then get gin/soda instead of gin/tonic etc.
If you have no clue what the carb content is of something that is going into your mouth, then you can't be successful. If you do understand, then your question is pointless as you should know the answer. ;) If your goal is weight loss, you shouldn't be drinking alcohol anyway. |

Did the Keto diet 3 times. Longest was for 90 days. It works for losing weight, but its not sustainable and you will likely gain all of it back extremely fast once you introduce moderate levels of carbs into your diet again. I would never do it again or advise anybody to do it unless they wanted to look good for their wedding photos or something like that.
You can drink vodka or tequila on Keto but I don't advise it. If you are serious about your health and losing weight, give up the booze and focus on your diet and training. |
Dont give up on the ancient joy of drinking . . .

did this several times so i have considerable first-hand experience. i drank almost every day - more like, every second day - when my keto diet was most successful.
just stick with DRY, WHITE wine, or any spirits/brandies those are uncoloured (vodka, tequila, gin, pálinka/raki in my area... white rum is debatable) forget beer and coloured drinks, like whiskey, rum, etc. also for more info check dietdoctor.com - the lingo of the site is kinda BS-y but trust me, the info therein is as valid as it gets. |
