Trump becomes first US president to cross into North Korea as he meets Kim at DMZ

Nothing but two dictators grandstanding: one who is a despot with authoritarian control, the other a despot who wishes he had such control.


North Korea gained everything and the USA zero except Mr Trumpf may rightly think it was a great Photo Op and re- election prospect.

Kim Jong Un gains two very valuable tactical advantages:-

1. To his own people his "status" rises as the world's greatest leader rushes to meet him - thus giving leverage to use to keep his people exactly where he wants them without any sign of opposition despite the beggaring of his nation keeping it in the dark ages for another era and beyond

2. And most importantly at this stage gives Kim Jong Un leverage in softening sanctions now that he has been declared a "good bloke" or just side stepping them without any risk action will be taken on the bypass. "See the sanctions do not mean anything so why have them or enforce them"

Kim cannot believe his luck as having the Trumpf in his pocket and tied around his little finger.

Hopefully if Kim comes to the USA any meetings will take place at Disneyland the most appropriate meeting place for these two.

When was the last President to talk with NK?

So far the talks have got a few hostages released and a scaling down of missile testing and no nuclear tests. So as Rochard say not much.

But if NK wants America to back it with business it has to come to the table and talk about what it's willing to give in return. Which I doubt is much as the top tier want nothing to reform their backward country as that could risk a revolution.

But we can wait and see.

Obama. Talk and visiting for photo op are to different things.
NK has not done anything they were not doing before donald.
They agreed to stop testing because they were done testing.
They dismantaled enrichment facility because they built a new one much more efficient and modern.
Where has he been getting his tech ? RUSSIA.
No effort to slow or eliminate that.
Want to do something effective... navel blockade.
Probably to late for that now, donald likely blew his (and our) chance. But it may come down to he must at some future bad point.

I am only advocating the idea that they have both the nuke capability and the means to deliver very modern versions of them and anyone thinks he is going to give them up is fooling themselves because without them, they have no leverage.
