Issues with norton anti virus. Need help
Ok, I have an affiliate I granted access to and he claims to get a malicious download warning. I had my host do a sweep, my staff try & replicate the error, and nothing. We cannot find a virus, nor can we replicate it. Is it us or norton. Any help appreciated.

1 - without the ACTUAL warning/error message, its impossible to say
2 - Norton was bad 10 years ago, and have not gotten any better over time. If the affiliate is stupid enough to use Norton, just dump him |

It said malicious download stopped. |
You best bet is to contact norton with the file/url triggering the warning and ask for explanation.

Sure, but you need to check the event log (in the application, not the OS event log) to see the EXACT reson and content it dident want to download. You can check with their online scanner https://safeweb.norton.com/ it should be running the same rules. It could also be a error on the clients PC, if its infected with other malware or use a private DNS service that resolve to the loopback for safety reasons (heimdal security does that, when it wants to blackhole a site) |
Norton is the virus

I usually check sites with https://www.virustotal.com when in doubt.. but as far as I can see they don't have norton there but plenty of major ones they do (nod, kaspersky etc)
