Website software like Wix

I am looking for a website building system like Wix where someone can log in, pick a URL on our server, upload some pictures and text and links..... Is there anything like this out there that we can purchase?

Fun fact: Wixen is german slang for jerking off.

Rochard, it's not exactly the same, but you can certainly setup a WordPress Hosting service using WordPress' own multisite capability which allows for server aliasing, not just subdomains. You can skin the login pages, the webmaster panels, etc all via various plugins. And you can load in any number of themes you want and make them available. There's e-commerceplugins as well that allow you to restrict content, allow subscriptions, etc.

There's an abundance of management plugins as well. WPMUDev, for example put a pile of their former premium Multi-site plugins on GitHub that anyone can fork and/or further develop.

CodeCanyon has a few. Just check out the reviews.

Also as mentioned if have a reasonable knowledge of WP it works well for this type of setup.

Do you have some examples of this on Wordpres?

Just codecanyon.com.

I haven't played with this stuff for a while so I can't recommend any particular script.

Right on the WPMUDev site they have a blog dedicated to just that:
https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/web...ess-multisite/

it might be a little outdated, but I think if you install WP Multisite on your own, you'll see the benefits of it. You place the plugins and themes you allow in the main domain's install (your network hub site). Then you choose to activate whatever you want customers to choose from.

One database, each site gets its own tables in the database (users, options, etc). There are numerous plugins out there for everything from membership management to network wide branding/advertisements.

Here's the Wordpress Codex article:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/create-a-network/

Beyond that, you just need to do a little research to get the themes and plugins you think you'll need.

HTH.

If you are looking for something sort of "drag and drop" style, I have heard really positive reviews about Elementor for Wordpress. Have not used it myself but seems pretty easy to use from what I have heard.

I saw one other day about $5 on ebay a site building script.

If you put something like this in place, be prepared for a lot of support questions.

You will need a dev and support, if people are not used to building sites, giving them a plug and play, without a lot of instructions will blow your support lines up.

There are some ok scripts on codecanyon, as page builders on a server they work well, but they dont cover image processing, so people upload fucking huge images.

If you can find something wp based, it does at least cover image processing.

WordPress is the best Wix alternative for powerful websites. Plus, it is one of THE most flexible website builders.
