Anyone Watching Undercover Billionaire?
So I saw the 1st EP was on last night and thought why not DVR it and see if it's interesting cause I use to like Undercover Boss (doubt they are related but it's similar.)
Quote:
The first ep was good and he gives advice that is good. He says no job is beneath anyone. He posts ads on job search places then he does something that is smart. He looks up what people are looking to buy like used military truck tires for $400-500 or old rod-iron fences. Then cause Erie, PA is so run down he goes out looking for these items in abandoned factories. He says rather than trying to sell a product you think you can sell. Find out what people want and sell them that. I won't give away all the hour-long show but I feel like this 8 EP show could be good for anyone looking to start from nothing and make it big (like all of us here want). |

I can't even see the link about it from the UK - "Not available in your country!" So I doubt they will be showing it over here very soon... :(

Watched it.. total bullshit so far:
Sleeping on the side of the road in your car.. Illegal Staking out old warehouses for anything left of value... Illegal, someone owns it. Flipping goods on the pavement on St Pats day without permission.. Illegal Going into someone's bar and doing the same... illegal. laws a bitch |

You know it's a tv show, right? so they prolly had permission from the city and the bar to sell those goods but people do do it all the time and get away with it without permission but with the tv cameras, I think they got permits. The goods he is looking for is stuff dumped onto abandoned properties and they are prolly all owned by the city since they were abandoned. Again it's a tv show so they would allow him to sleep on the outskirts of the city. Homeless people do sleep in their cars everyday legal or not. |

Like good luck with the show, but its just not for me.. based on the con. |

if it's abandoned and the company was dissolved, no not really. the other two are probably so locale specific that it'd be ridiculous to say that it's illegal in general. |

you can get permits for all the shit you said just in my area, man. takes a 20 minute trip down to city hall and signing a couple forms and writing a check or two / swiping your card. but yes, I bet a big production company would do something that'd make them legally at risk. :1orglaugh |

the whole concept of the show is going from a $100 to a millionaire company in 90 days.. there is no way you could do it 100% legally. The whole show is showing how to grow from nothing. 9 out of 10 self-made billionaires have broken the law in some way or another and this show is about making a million in 90 days from $100 so you know he has to go outside the box/law |
my biggest issue with the EP was when he cleaned the house for $80 and he mopped around the many rugs. I've cleaned my places and had people clean for me and everyone knows you take rugs outside and shake them out but this guy mopped around rugs. :error

I saw it tonight, and quite liked it. Will give it a couple episodes to see how it goes. Hard to see how he ramps up to flipping houses so fast, but I'll tune in and see.
