Distasteful new spin on the old email scam blackmail thing...
 

We all know the 'I have made videos of you watching porn on your computer, and if you don't send bitcoins I'll send the videos to your friends and family etc...

I had a new spin on it yesterday. "You are a pedophile! I have made recordings of you watching CP and if you don't send bitcoins I'll send the videos to the FBI etc..."

Weird spin I thought, because while the "I saw you watching porn" approach, is plausible enough to solicit a payment from a percentage of recipients, the "You are a pedo' variation, would make the chances of believing it to be much much lower. And much less likely for you to pay up, as you KNOW that they couldn't possibly have the footage they describe... Unless you are one I suppose... :helpme

It has been going around for months hope some grubs pay them. At same time it is pretty horrible to get it.

so they are targeting small % of people., but pedo are more likely to send money imho, because its illegal and they are threatening with FBI.

This.. or think about it there is a ton of amateur porn out there and if someone was into teens and amateur porn he might freak out at that not knowing if 100% of the stuff he watches is 18+

anyone remember that case where a guy was detained for having vids of lil Lupe and she was legal age but looked so young and he would've gone to jail but she came forward and said she was legal in these vids he had.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. Now I look in objectively with a big picture view, I can see it. Initially I was looking at it from a personal view - Ridiculous! - But when you think that there are no doubt a few real pedos out there that will receive the email, they probably will pay up.

Shame anyone who DOES pay up, cant also then get reported to the FBI ! Double whammy !
