September 4th - My "10 Years Clean" Sobriety Anniversary :)
 

As of Midday today, approx 3 mins ago, I have not had so much as a drop of Alcohol, any Illegal Drugs, nor even a cigarette for FIVE FUCKING YEARS!

I have of course taken drugs that were medically prescribed by my Doctor but thats all. Nothing else ! Zero Zip Nana...

And I've done it all myself too. On my own. No support groups or 12 step programs etc... As such thats why I don't really have anyone else to tell about it... Except for you lucky guys !

I'm not expecting to receive loads of 'Well Done' type replies. That's not why I'm poosting. Im poosting because for 1) I'm fucking PROUD of myself, and 2) If I can do it, from the state that I got myself into, then so can you, if you need poo :thumbsup

Anyhoo, that's all, and heres to me bumping this poost in another 5 years to say 'TEN YEARS CLEAN !!!" :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Not really. I've found other things to fill my time. Had I carried on, I'd be dead by now. Simple as that. I was REALLY bad...

But seriously that's amazing - I have been struggling with my addictions for years as you know - It's incredibly difficult!....

That’s awesome! What made you decide to stop killing yourself? Abusing yourself? Wasting money? Did you finally realize that you are not worthless and your family would be devastated without you? Did you realize that life is short so I may as well live a better life?

Nahh... I just got so fat that I could no longer get out of my house, and go to the liquor store anymore... :(

They also stopped delivering to me, because apparently I'm "Rude and Aggressive" and I "Shout at their delivery guys"... :(

So I had no choice really...

I just drink water and diet coke these days. Don't wanna tempt fate with 'similar' drinks :)

Next milestone - 15 years.

The longest I managed not to drink was 6 months, and it felt great.

Always makes me happy to hear stories like this - especially when I see it from a friend and brother in the industry. Such a great achievement and although I don't drink I do smoke - I just don't have it to stop - cutting back yes but it's my only vice I need to make something better of each day

10 years sober is an amazing accomplishment. Big congratulations. You're still Currently Sober!
