A Californian startup has created an EV that never needs charging

that is not their claim. To begin with, its more like a 3 wheel bike, than a car. They just say you dont need to plug it in IF you only ride the miles they say is the limit AND you live in a place like sunny California. So if that car sits outside every day and you only drive short distances, its not impossible to have "free forever" battery power |
I would rather walk then drive that
|
the new electric bicycles are amazingly efficient and something like this with solar + pedal power combined would make an amazingly efficient ultra light bike/car combo...
I believe that solar+battery+pedal will be very popular in the future... |
I guess okay if you can keep it outside every day, but for those who have indoor parking spaces it's going to be a nightmare. But on the other hand, they will never purchase it in the first place.

I think the point that some are missing is that it could be a leap forward in efficiency. I think the car (car?) itself is ugly and I'm sure that it accelerates like a turtle, but like concept cars, it can be a good example what can be done.
