Please help, someone is stealing from me!

I just learned that someone is scraping my website and showing an exact replica on a different domain.

I'm working hard on my website and aiming for search engine traffic.
Duplicate content is the worst thing when it comes to SEO, especially for new sites.

My domain is uncams.com
Replicated domain is chatterbate.co.uk

https://prnt.sc/pkdt99
I can see the chaturbate campaign param, so the mother fucker can easily be identified and banned by Chaturbate, but I'm not sure if they care about such things.

Any suggestions how to handle the issue?

Since the duplicate site uses a typo/variation of Chaturbate's trademark as their domain and usage of that term is most likely unauthorized, you should just report it to Chaturbate and let their lawyers handle it.

NatalieK 10-17-2019 12:33 AM

you mean they used the same colours as you? Itīs all the chaturbate white label, they havenīt exactly copied you, just decided on the same filters as you, this could all be by preference, not to actually copy you.

Not understanding whatīs so different with yours as many others iīve seen?

xxify 10-17-2019 01:06 AM

It's not a whitelabel, the design might look similar but it's a custom website developed with Chaturbate's API.

Simply see the differences by visiting the same page on uncams and on chaturbate:
https://uncams.com/iuliana32
https://chaturbate.com/iuliana32

Visit a non existent page on his site,he will make the same request to your server, then block his server ip.

Eg:
Go to https://chatterbate.co.uk/72bwk927xh8w
Check your server logs for the request to /72bwk927xh8w
Block his ip with your server firewall

Brilliant idea! Worked like a charm!
His IP is 108.167.189.66 in case someone will google it in the future.

I also contacted Chaturbate, still waiting for a response.

Thank you all!

Report it to Chaturbate and they will deal with him accordingly.

i guess the content is bought/produced exlusively by you ? or is it about the Wordpress look and feel? I think it is about : " A pot calling the cettle black" ...or not ?

Good work!

How do you not have duplicate content.... With a white label?

Cucik 10-18-2019 09:38 AM

Wholesome thread, nice work Iceboi!

iceboi 10-18-2019 01:15 PM

The thief's website redirects to yours now. Did you buy it off him?

doubt it. I've been through this before years ago (fixed by advice from a gfy'er) and after I IP blocked him he did an iframe thing that was even easier to block. in the latter case blocking the thief caused the same redirects back to my sites affected. I also notified google (concerned about links from a thieving domain, this was when Penguin first emerged) and his domain where he was mirroring/iframing a ton of sites, not just my own, was completely kicked out of the serps shortly thereafter. doubt I did that on my own but was nice to see it happen

see, worth hanging out here :pimp delighted you got it solved OP. just seeing this now or would have absolutely weighed in earlier tho no need as iceboi had you covered

Instead of blocking him completely, I am now serving a redirect page to requests from his IP address.

I thought you were playing us when I saw it re-direct back to your site :Oh crap

xxify 10-21-2019 07:40 AM

Last update:
He finally noticed the redirect and now scraping a different website: prepaidgirl.com
(which I have nothing to do with)

Thank you all for your help!

Colmike9 10-21-2019 09:16 AM

Seems like it would be easier for him if he just used the API normally like everyone else...

Haha, I usually sneak in some js that checks the current domain and redirects if it's not mine.

kjs 10-22-2019 09:19 AM

What I would do:

while 1 == 1:
curl https://chatterbate.co.uk/{random-guid}
