No, not literally, but a VERY large amount. It certainly feels like it though !

Starting from nothing (coming from a mac) I've had to also purchase all the accessories as well. Even as far as having a special desk area custom built for it.

Plus, with the top end components, I didn't scrimp too much on on the other stuff either. Soundbar and subwoofer, 32 inch samsung monitor, gaming keyboard and mouse and mouse mat, all the cables, etc etc... It all adds up :disgust

I mean, it's certainly the most I've ever spent on a computer system in my life...

Not really. It's not really about cost - it's about getting EXACTLY what I want :)

I still have my old Alienware PC on the desk behind me here in my my home office. I think I got it in 2008 or so. It had two video cards, which was required to run mulitple monitors back then and wasn't very common. Still runs.

ilnjscb 10-23-2019 10:50 AM

Meanwhile these specs will be available for $459 in 10 years.

Thats great ! Likewise my iMac is still running flawlessly on High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G8037) after being purchased over 10 years ago...

Hopefully my new one will be doing the same in 10 years time :) Thats why I splurged :)

Absolutely. But thats OK. as long as it lasts me 10 years, Im happy. I wouldn't want to get something that becomes vasically obsolete in a few years time :)

adultinnovation 10-23-2019 11:31 AM

It will be obsolete in like 4 years...

I still have a GTX 950 video card.. it came out in August 2015. It's 4+ years old.. It still runs all games but can't run anything on ultra settings..

Every 4 years or so PC tech becomes outdated..

Your $700 video card will probably last long though.

Not switching mate - Still keeping my iMac for all my day to day 'work' stuff etc...

The PC is purely for fun. Games and emulation and virtual pinball, and probably VR after Xmas and entertainment !

CaptainHowdy 10-23-2019 03:17 PM

I actually have to jumpstart my desktop computer . . .

pimpmaster9000 10-23-2019 03:17 PM

I can barely tell the difference between HD and 4K gaming...its not worth upgrading IMO...

$8,999.00 + free shiping
That's pretty much it, multiplied by 4 + some additional accessories.
I'm sure you are aware that the target market for Quadro products are not gamers and Quadro has have never been cheap.
