Well it helps you heal childhood trauma. With the usual (and outdated) talk therapy you just "talk" about your experiences, but you cant do anything about what you feel...with emdr you can rewrite (more or less) the feeling you have associated with the trauma. It is very important to find a good therapist for this, because like in any other profession there are therapists that have no idea what they are doing.

I would have recommended the classical suck it up method but I guess you've already tried that . . .

Did I miss something? When did talk therapy become outdated?

symtab 11-08-2019 01:17 PM

I would recommend this book: https://www.amazon.com/Letting-David.../dp/1401945015

It depends what you want to achieve, for example if you have OCD or anxiety related disorders talk therapy doesnt do you good...

Best medicine against trauma is lucid dreaming.
