Name some alternatives to Elevated X for a paysite...

(maybe custom CMS is the best way to go since the "Customization" EvX allows seems to be limited)

Most of our clients use WordPress, ElevatedX or custom.

I've seen people use MechBunny and I believe KVS would work as well.

What kind of elevatedx customizations do you need?

You can run a paysite on our software - Mechbunny. One time cost, no monthly fees, almost entirely unencoded, and we can customize it completely to your needs.

Lots of options. It really depends on your needs and you wants and where you are with them.

I would start with a Wordpress site since it's cheap, or even free if you do it all yourself. Unless you know for sure your site will make money, don't bother investing in custom solutions.
