Change in Alexa ranking ?
Did anyone notice ? My Alexa went from about 150 K to 200 K where it was steady for a few years. Then suddenly about a month ago it went almost " overnight" to 1.7 million and a week later it went down to 1.0 million....Where it sits today.
My GA shows no changes of significance and neither is my Weblogs...BUT most important NO changes in my average revenue :thumbsup So WTF Alexa ? Anybody has any idea ? |
Looks fine to me: https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/gfy.com

Don't use Alexa.

How is your site doing using SimilarWeb? Do you see a significant drop there as well? |
I only use Alexa to tell me the weather, the time and where the fuck my Amazon deliveries are.

Alexa rankings has always been inaccurate and useless :2 cents:

Alexa is irrelevant.
Either way, new sites are launched and built every day. If you're not growing, then your rank will basically constantly drop. |
Forget about Alexa because it is not accurate since Alexa only counts if the visitors has the alexa toolbar installed.

My Weblog and GA traffic also the same Have no clue what similarweb does, but we do not use it. ( just tried to run a free trial but only got a blank page with a copyright infor on the bottom and some funny logo at the top) as I have said in my orig, post is that the revenue did NOT drop... just the fucking Alexa...:2 cents: |
From our experience Alexa is *way* off. SimilarWeb is more accurate.
Apparently it's very easy to game the former. |
Thanks to all for your comments, for now it all remains a mystery :2 cents:
