Best Strategies For Increasing Rebills?
For 2020 I am totally overhauling my outdated Members Areas. New design, mobile friendly, etc. While this alone should boost rebills I am also interested in any winning strategies others use to increase (and maintain) their monthly rebills.
So any ideas? Post them here if you want or PM me if the strategy is hush hush. :winkwink: Things change so fast in our Industry that it's always a good thing to revisit the basics from time to time. Thanks in advance! |
Hide the cancel button. :2 cents:

Update business model to match current trends vs the one that has been declining since 2002.

Bump for suggestions.

General suggestions, not a critique of any one site:
*Send a weekly newsletter showing off new updates *Have a clear place on your homepage that shows future updates *Make your site a place surfers feel at home at (ie, make it feel like someone actually operates it and cares for it rather than a barren wasteland of content) *Answer customer support emails immediately including cancellation requests sent this way. Be helpful and courteous. Don’t argue with subscribers ever. If they’re abusive, just ignore them. *People who cancel should not be hated. We all have our reasons and if you provide good content on a fast, easy to use site, they’ll probably be back in the future. *Keep track of when a previous subscriber comes back. You may notice that a sizable % of your ‘new’ signups are repeaters. *Take note of when cancellations are higher. Does a certain type of content result in a higher amount? Does adding a certain type of content reduce cancellations? |
Post something your site members will find really A+ at least once every 5 weeks.

ok - so i will try to give you something useful
not sure if you have a page where people can cancel (but assume you do) now write in big letters something like that before the final cancel button Too bad you want to leave. but maybe you only have temporarily no time or are on vacation or otherwise busy. did you know that you can simply pause your membership with us for one, two or even 3 months? if you choose this option, your membership will simply be paused for the selected period of time and will automatically be renewed afterwards, without you having to do anything? how does that sound? HERE you can PAUSE your membership |

Thanks for the responses everyone! Some great ideas in this thread. Keep 'em coming! :)
Note: It seems every mainstream business is switching to or adding the "subscription model". We all know it's getting harder to find, signup and retain Members so I look at not only all of your great suggestions but also what mainstream operations are doing as well. Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, etc etc etc. I think all these places focusing on rebills and retaining Members is making people more aware of their monthly charges. A good thing? Ultimately yes if it makes companies like mine step up their game and do more for their customers to bring them more value for their money. :thumbsup |

If they like your content, but also need to cancel for whatever reason, then make it easy. If what you do is good and unique, they'll be back! :) |
To improve your rebill ratio, give your members a reason to renew and offer them value - frequent updates with quality content.
