Webair Now Nerivon Web Services???

I got an email from Webair Today indicating that all VPS clients would now be transferred to Nerivon Web Services in Canada. I googled Nerivon and its run out of residential home.

Is Webair going out of Business or what?

Left them years ago as we realized that we payed years for
backup service wich was never made and when she tried to charge
us for thousands of gb cdn costs, that were caused by unnecessarily large server log files.

Even the server termination was problematic because they tried to
charge us another 10k for the next 12 months.
Although we never signed annual contracts there.

Had the same issue with them when they tried to charge me for a few more months at once after I decided to terminate the server, despite the fact that I have never signed a contract. The main reason for leaving them after a few months was a poor service. I remember it took them tens of tickets and close to a month to set up the server properly.

When I look at it from this perspective, I'm glad that happened, otherwise I would not be a happy customer of NatNet for years. :2 cents:

They have been on the market for a very long time, like at least 5 years. It was hush hush around here because they tried to distance themselves from adult.

weren't you pushing webair?... for a long time?

k0nr4d 12-20-2019 01:41 AM

I remember once long ago they left a client's server down for like 2 or 3 weeks... I haven't even heard the name webair in years.

They were always in bananas , even 9 years ago while i was still using them. I remember server went down once because of faulty UTP cable and nobody noticed it. You would think they would have network connectivity monitoring but no. Not to mention numerous hard-drive fails, which was only solved once i insisted to use WD hard drives instead seagate.

I lasted 1 day there and said "fuck this"... Like 12 years ago.

The thread is on here somewhere. Fucking clown show.

Never. At one point we (GotWebHost) put them in the mix of hosts we got IPs from, but their billing sucked.

They may have lasted two months, but we never mentioned their name because we never said where our IPs came from.

That's right... gotwebhost was your sig. I bet the owner of Webair way back... world series. I won every game and he paid up. Around $600 or so.

I guess his hosting wasn't that great. The story about holding hostage a site is bs... that should never fly.

Oracle Porn 12-21-2019 02:54 AM

I used to host there and ran their sig in return for a free server for many years. Service was mostly good, never had any serious problem and everything was fixed rather quickly.

Have to say we've been with Webair for over 10 years and never had any problems. Not sure what they are like with smaller hosting accounts as we have 8 or 9 servers, load balancer, CDN, backups etc so i guess we are a reasonably big client for them.

But they always respond to our support requests within minutes usually

fuzebox 12-22-2019 10:32 PM

No idea why anyone would use webair if you weren't mailing...

TheBlackShark 12-26-2019 03:57 AM

Over 10 years with them, their support is always been really fast and efficient. Few issues in the last decade.

NatalieMojoHost 12-26-2019 04:24 AM

We've helped migrate a lot of customers from Webair lately. Might be related to the ownership switch. Some of the servers we moved people from are way outdated.

Denny 12-26-2019 04:49 AM

I had a small VPS with them for like 9 years. It was quite outdated as I never asked for an upgrade. I considered closing it a few times but it worked well and support was always available via live chat when I needed it.

Earlier this year they informed me that they are now focusing on cloud services and all VPS clients will be moved to their sister company OneHost. Wasn't happy about it but my new OneHost VPS should have better specs and I was too busy (lazy) to move my sites to other host so I said ok, let's do it.

It took them like 10 days to prepare new VPS and migrate the account... and it was still not done properly... the communication was very slow... I got angry and I asked them to close the account, and moved my sites elsewhere.
